  • the emperor and lord voldemort are the two most evil villains ever

  • Does anyone else hear original trilogy Obi-Wan's voice in Sidious' at 3:31? I'm sure it's a coincidence, but it sounds just like it for a second.

  • UNNNNNNNNNN

    LIMITED

    PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhh

  • I always wondered what happened to sidious voice at 2:50. Is it because he's drawing heavily on the dark side?

  • @tobaccoKillz He's using force persuade on him

  • UNLIMITED POWAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! XD

  • da university is full of shit lords

  • "I am looking forward to completing your training, in time you will call me master"

  • I redefine the vocal double english is down leveled-stage than fench one as usual besides..cos france voices double staff is number 1 of the world ..& you know what ??? squarely as cancer truth !!!!

  • Sidious is troll

  • Power! Unlimited power!

  • @DarthVitrious worst line ever

  • "Strike me down with all of your hatred and your journey towards the dark side will be complete!"

actually when I was a kid (back in the 80s) I though that's why the Emperor's face was deformed. I though that it was a scar on his forehead because Anakin attacked him with a lightsaber. And his hatred made him turn to the dark side.

  • In Revenge of the Sith it looks like he is wearing a halloween mask. He looks way better in Return of the Jedi.

  • @NottinghamForest22 definitely true. In Jedi He looks like he's a 800 years old man. Here he looks ridiculous.

  • Someone please explain this to me...what the fuck would Palpatine have done if the Trade Federation was completely successful in the Naboo invasion?

  • @knottsknocks Uhhh taken them over. I mean he is Palpatine

  • @knottsknocks Uh the same thing, minus it would have been Maul instead of Vader

  • @knottsknocks That's a very good question and to me part of the intrigue of Ep. I. We can only speculate about the original plan, the important facts we do know are: 1. Sidious wanted Naboo invaded 2. He also wanted the treaty signed by Amidala (legalizing the invasion) even after being elected supreme chancellor. My guess is Sidious originally wanted to 'legally' invade world after world and create turmoil in that way

  • I know why anakin joined. He's scared shitless. I mean face it, palpatine has a vagina on his forehead.

  • 1:58 is epic!

  • man he is a million times better in Episode 6. fuck the prequels.

  • @NottinghamForest22 Actually - imo Palpatine/Darth Sidious was the only actor that held stable acting in all of the Star Wars movies. Especially Revenge of the Sith.

  • @HypercaneKyle

Oh that's a bit unfair. Christopher Lee and (to an extent) Ewan McGregor were effective given their material. I would have said Jones was as well, but sadly thanks to the material he was given in Episode 3 the only real thing he was able to deliver were lines that would become parodied time and time again and not because they were actually good like some other lines he got in the original trilogy.

  • @balrog13571 AND Liam Neeson

  • @HypercaneKyle yeah but the dialogue and his make-up is so much better in Return of the Jedi.

  • McDiarmid Had Good Acting

  • ........ Rise..... Lmao

  • It is ironic how Palpatine, evil as he was, came from Naboo, such a "goooooooooood" planet.

  • @nibiru250: Lucifer was a member of the angels, and they are beings regarded as "good".

  • @Thedoctor19000 Of course, no argument there. Actually it was a joke, the "gooooooood" on my post was actually Palpatine saying "goooooood" to Anakin when Anakin agreed to become Palpatine's apprentice. But yes, point taken.

  • this guy is the most evil asshole in any movie i have ever seen, i love it!

  • At last there will be peace....? I'm confused...Peace is a Lie. There is only passion.

  • Palpatine a.k.a Darth Sidious ---the master in the art of mindfucking.

  • With Palpatine's death, the saga is complete. However, good job either way. I just always remember Palpatine as perhaps my favorite villain death in film. I know, there's others, but there's something magical about how he falls screaming to his death in the Death Star's core that makes it such a great ending.

  • 2:47 "Gooooooooood" Sends shivers down my spine every time I watch this movie.

  • I completely forgot that Palpatine was from Naboo. That makes it all the more horrible about how evil he is, considering that he came from such a good place.

  • @Mkoberland palptine isnt from naboo surely.

  • @iam1and1isme In Episode I, he's an ambassador from Naboo before he becomes Chancellor. He said, "OUR tragedy" to the queen.

  • @Mkoberland it's just hard to tell from his face ;) naboo such a nice place then this fugly motherfuker is born and wants to rule the galaxy, pretty strange

  • @iam1and1isme

How the heck was a sith lord even born on naboo don't most of them come from that planet korriban??

  • @Dimitri0809 i dont know what planets the original siths were from, but palpatine is human... i thought he was born on like some mustafa or coruscant planet...

  • Palpatine is just such a great character. He's the real antagonist of Star Wars, Anakin was just manipulated but Palpatine was truly evil.

  • Do it!!!!!!!

  • One of my favorite characters from all the star wars. excellent performance on the part of Ian Mcdiarmid.

  • para mi palpatine es demasiado.....malvado

  • this guy was in all 6 movies wasnt he

  • @shaneymane15 Technically he was, if you count him being mentioned in IV.

  • @blinkfan305 I mean Ian McDirmand (sp?) appearing in the films. So he wasn't in A New Hope? But he was in all the others?

  • @shaneymane15 Again, if you want to get technical, Clive Revell was the original Emperor in ESB. But for the purposes of this discussion, Ian McDiarmid was in every movie except A New Hope.

  • A+

  • i love how the first time he puts on his hood he has that creepy stare and the yellow in his eyes are super illuminated. creepy

  • ......dark side......complete....

  • By the way... to those who think the Emperor died when Vader threw him into that pit, I'm HAPPY to announce you that Sidious didn't die. From what I understood, by the time Sidious rose to proeminence as a very dangerous Sith Lord, he succesfully learned how to be immortal and to preserve his spirit. That's why he created those clones of him, so that his spirit could possess each body right after the former body was killed. So... "Star Wars - Episode 7: Return of the Sith".

  • In my opinion, the only Sith Lords that could match Darth Sidious were the ancient ones, like Marka Ragnos(in the era before KotOR 1), Darth Traya(Dark Lady of the Sith who was almost as manipulative/mystic/dark as Sidious), Darth Revan(many believed him to be the Sith'ari, the Chosen One of the Sith), Darth Sion(who looked like a living corpse, but used the dark side to stay alive) and Darth Nihilus(who was SO corrupted by the dark side that he became merely a dark side energy).

  • I absolutely love Sidious! My favorite character.

  • 7:43 Palpatine admits that he has a weakness

  • @historyfreakfroman um how is that??

  • @totterdell "Your overconfidence is your weakness"

"Your faith is your friends is yours"

  • Comment removed

  • rise and shine darth vader, rise and shine

  • "Everything that has transpired has done so according to MY design" most badass line in film history.

  • If you look at the Star Wars Univerise as an organism or body out of the trillions possibly hundreds of trillions of cells(sentient life) within in it he is able to orchastrate control of the Force, destruction of major Planetary bodies, systematic control of sentient and non sentient life. and plan just general badness... he stands on top...there is no equal. And to boot he does it as a mortal or temporal entity... ie not a god or angelic being just a plain old man superior and scary

  • Comment removed

  • Once more the sith will ruuuule the galaxy...... and we shall have peace. (so fking epic)

  • Ahh yes, the greatest sith of them all!

  • UNLIMITED POOOWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!

  • 7:44 - OH SNAP!

  • 2:13 Best Palpatine dark side moment.

  • Yoda kicks butt with a lightsaber

  • This has to be the best video on youtube.I cant imagine any actor playing Palpatine as well as Ian Mcdarmid.

  • you have lost..

NO NO NO YOU HAVE LOST

    rofl

  • @TheRealEzzy He said " NO NO NO YOU WILL DIE" but still funny.

  • WIPE THEM OUT..............ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!

  • I miss those ominous hologram transmissions. Sidious is THE MASTER, the one who orchestrated everything. It's a disturbing thought, to consider that such a menacing genius could actually exist. Working, manipulating, plotting in the shadows as we speak...

  • @OSTube1 it was not all his plan. there was a thousand year sith plan that was put put into play.

  • @Flawdaboi1589 Perhaps, but Sidious masterminded all the key events. The clone wars, the discovery of the clones, the vote of no confidence, the Jedi 'rebellion', Anakins turn, the invisible hand, converting the chosen one, manipulating and exploiting Plagueis etc...

  • @Flawdaboi1589 His genius is especially evident in the Phantom Menace. Amidala arriving on Coruscant was completely against the plan, but Sidious manages to manipulate this unexpected event to his advantage by getting her to vote against Valorum

  • To me, the voice of the Emperor is as iconic as Vader's. The sound, the inflection… It's so damn evil. :D

  • i love his laugh!

  • He is the one saving grace of the prequels

  • Best Villain With out a doubt hands down!!

  • Why am i watching this? I never liked palpatine.

  • Is it just me or does he look a bit like Frank Barrone from Everybody Loves Raymond?

  • unlimitedddddddd POHWAAHAHAHAHAHH

  • @deadpool971 Has that become a meme yet?

  • 4:25 favourite quote from the new series.. reminds me alot of darth sidious from episode V and Vi

  • Darth Sidious's hooded robe looks badass. :P

  • Comment removed

  • from 02:00 to 02:03 he sound like smegel in lord of the ring all you need is Darth Sidious cough like he has pop corn skin in the back of his throat

  • How did you do the opening crawl?

  • at 0:27 Photo bombed!

  • Of course Vader is more famous! But thats just the thing! The devil works in disguise and behind the curtains, but he influences everything! Everything Vader is is because of that ultimate evil guy! So Vaders fame is his in many ways! Lukas realy gave a great human form to evil!

  • @KungVanargand Exactly - people who are annoyed at Sidious's comparative lack of mainstream popularity, should realise this is exactly what Sidious would want...he wants to sneak and scheme, pulling the strings as the ultimate puppet master without anyone realising. Vader was far too weak to dare challenge Sidious alone. Nobody was as intelligent and crafty as Darth Sidious. Technically, the Chosen One, Vader pre-Mustafar mutilation could have grown roughly twice the maximum power of Sidious.

  • @ThePalaeontologist But Didnt

  • @Reathold Yes, indeed, because the trauma destroyed much of his biomass and the midichlorians in his flesh. Encased in a suit of heavy armour and with a respirator, Anakin had to change his whole fighting style. It is telling how as Darth Vader pre-Mustafar he rampaged through Jedi Temple killing an unspecified number of Jedi himself including Cin Drallig and Serra Keto, the former being Yoda's last direct Padawan (like Dooku was) until Luke. As post-Mustafar Vader he barely held off 8 Jedi.

  • @Reathold During the Jedi Enclav incident. My memory on this one is a bit hazy atm, but I think either 8 or 12 Jedi gathered on a planet in the Outer Rim, and the Empire became aware of them. Vader attacked, I think with the 501st in support as usual. Vader was in control though it took all his power to fend off the Jedi. The Emperor learned of the disappointing effort - which Anakin pre-Mustafar would have dealt with in short order - but had Imperial propaganda say it was 50 Jedi with no 501st.

  • @ThePalaeontologist *enclave

  • i fucking h8 anakin, i love vader.

  • Glad to see that you ripped the parts from Episodes 4, 5, and 6 from the original format. It's so difficult to find them now, even on torrent sites :-(

  • I have to admit, if i was shooting lightning at a guy who tried to kill me and permanently disfigured me, i would say the same things as ole Palpi :D

  • Comment removed

  • no...NO...NOOOO!!! YOU WILL DIEEE!!!!! (BUZZZZZZZ) I wish I had Force Lightning and a kick-ass black hooded robe...

  • so did Palpatine actually have the power to save Padme? I know it was a con to turn Anakin but was it a complete lie?

  • @ben9DB

Hard to tell, as he used truth and lies interchangeably to get to his own ends. Even if he did know how to save her, she kind of needed to die so he could have full control over Anakin.

  • Comment removed

  • what happens with hes cheeks when he says Power at 1:25? :O

  • Ian McDirmid is good but....

F Murray Abraham made a way better emperor - the malice just oozes out of that guy.

  • Elite666 you are right, democracy alone is not good, that why you need a democratic republic.

  • Why i love dark side ? It's not because they bad, i'm just don't belive in democracy, i hate democracy, monarchy is the best. Second reason is little diffrent, jedis want only study light side of force, siths boths sides; jedi are restricted in teaching, when you want learn a true nature of the force, you should study both aspects.Anyway, Yoda is wrong, Dark Side isn't easier, dark side use all aspects of the force so you are obviously stronger on dark side than light side.

  • @Elit666 sorry about my bad english ;) Darth Sidious is a freakin genius, he (with Darth Vader) kill almost every jedi (even counting books), they (empire) were closest ever in entire Star Wars history to wipe out all jedi (but unfortunately peasant from tatooine save the day ;/).

  • @Elit666 the only disadvantage is that at one point a dark side user will be corrupted by his own power and become just an empty shell filled only by the desire to achieve more and more power...and there are countless examples of Jedi who turned to the dark side for the sake of a greater good but failed utterly...two of them were Revan and Jacen Solo who wanted to save the galaxy but in the end they were destroyed and became evil themselves..fortunately Revan had a second chance and he took it

  • Got to love his aggressive drive and focus. Pure malevolence at it's finest.

  • my dad says thats what my aunt looks like lol 2:47

  • Why is all the sound pitched up half a step?

  • Wow!! Total coolness.

  • Underappreciated is the wrong word. Underutilized is the correct one. He was BY FAR the most interesting character to watch in the prequels.

  • 6 people will find that it is they who are mistaken! About a great many thiiiiiiiiiingssssssssss...

  • Why'd you skip episode 2? It was significant too

  • Its ironic how the older Ian Mcdiarmid played the younger Emperor in the prequels and the younger Ian Mcdiarmid played the older Emperor in Return of the Jedi.

  • Underappreciated? Then why is it that when I talk about bad guys with non-geeks, mentionning the Emperor in Star Wars is either the first thing they do or the easiest way for me to get them to know what I'm talking about? Pretty much everyone knows an "appreciates" the guy.

  • @paireon Compared to Vader he is nowhere near as famous/well known to people who aren't into Star Wars. Vader is a pop-culture icon, along with Stormtroopers, Boba Fett, Yoda etc.

Of course, the prequels evened the score a little by making Vader the annoying brat and Sidious the ultimate bad-guy :)

  • @Fro0lik That's why I like the newer trilogy better than the original-Palpatine/Sidious gets more exposure than Anakin/Vader!! Also, the lightsaber clashes are 5X faster!!!

  • @Fro0lik Actually, sidious is probably nearly as well known. Numerous politicians have been referred to as 'emperor like'. when a british politician was made a lord, comedians asked 'who made him a lord, the sith?' I'd say he's well known as the emperor, just people have to be evil and manipulative to warrant a comparison, to be like vader you just need to act like a thuggish brute.

  • @Papped1710 actualy vader had plans of his own

  • @Flawdaboi1589 Yes but they barely ever worked.

  • @Fro0lik Palpatine is well-known amongst the people who know nothing about SW. unlike them, we know more about this. We don't care for this abomination of the Sith. Anyone who isn't a George cocksucker or an ignorant tw@ will know that Sidious is far from a great and powerful sith lord.

  • @STR33TSofJUST1C3 Remarkable he achieved anything at all eh?

  • @KingE20 Sidious just used powers he learned from other Sith Lords ages before the Rise of the empire. He used Traya's deceiving and disguising power, Nihilus' power, Exar Kun's saber techniques. He was just not able to do what Vitiate was able to do. Vitiate was the ONLY sith capable to dominate the minds of hundreds of Sith LORDS and everything else Sidious was able to. If Sidious was smart enough, he didn't use weak clone bodies. Clones can't sustain Force sensitive souls.

  • @STR33TSofJUST1C3 Indeed, i agree with that.

  • @STR33TSofJUST1C3

Still Sidious was the greatest of the Sith Lords, his skills of manipulation and his political maneuvering was unequaled, getting everyone to do his bidding.

    What greater power is there?

He brought the Republic to its knees.

  • @LemmingoftheBDA2 How difficult is it to bring a Nation to its knees when they already are laying on the ground? Vitiate also got many more and many powerful Sith to do his bidding. Marka Ragnos shaped the galaxy when he was ALREADY dead. If Naga Sadow lived in this Era, Sidious Death Star would have been crashed onto Endor. When everything else is weak, you seem very powerful. A simple 'claire-obscure' effect on filmography.

  • @STR33TSofJUST1C3 even so sideous was the most powerful sith in history. he has learned alot from plageis and was evil b4 he became a sith. he was strong in the force in many ways. tho the plan to destroy the jedi was not all his idea. a thousand year sith plan was put into play

  • @Flawdaboi1589 Being smart doesn't make you the most powerful. Vitiate and Traya were both smarter, more ingenious and more powerful than Sissyous

  • @STR33TSofJUST1C3 yeah Vitiate is better emperor than palpatine because he lived for thousands of years and he has great force powers

  • @clonekaiba6

Ah but did Vitiate make it onto the big screen?

  • @clonekaiba6

Vitiate is no where near to sidious force powers if you compared to EU.

  • sorry to hear that

  • u didnt show him killing agen, tin, and kit fisto why

  • @wes6ify Because it isn't one of my favorites. I don't like the scene, think it's badly executed and I had a 10 minute limit on this video.

  • @Fro0lik

good reply and agree, great video this!

  • Dominating the whole universe and he can't find a decent dentist.

  • This is GOOooOOooD

  • One of these days, I'm going to go a whole day only using Palpatine quotes.

  • The greatest contribution to the prequel trilogy is Lucas showing us just how truley diabolical the Emperor was. He owned everyone.

  • Very nice, although his lines are better with context.

  • He was so much more EVIL in episode 4,5,6...so much more fun to hate!

  • @Dmaster311

Dude, he had a cameo in 5 and only had a major role in 6 of the OT. In the PT he started a major war, brought down the Republic turning it into an empie, began the massacre of the Jedi Order, and had all of his old allies (Dooku and the Seperatists) killed by the end. Granted the he did evil things in the OT, but he had a lot more to do in the PT.

  • yea funy enouph onlyu one has achieved it. anakins birth fathers the only one who could cheat death.

  • @banditobane I've always undermined Voldemort, but after seeing the 4th movie, he is one sick fuck. I thought his presence was worse than Sidious.

  • @Fro0lik In contrast, the novelization was not ambiguous. In the novelization, Palpatine's knowledge, if not his power, clearly eclipsed Yoda. Yoda needed to retreat because he forsaw that the key to Sidious defeat had not yet come to fruition. Sidious drew his power from the aggression of others, including Yoda. Yoda realized that he could not defeat Sidious in combat, but needed to find an alternative method.

  • @Fro0lik I believe that you are missing the point. The movie was clearly ambiguous. It was also meant to show a contrast between the two fights (Anakin v. Obi and Palp v. Yoda). Anakin was more powerful than Obi, but he chose to make an injudicious decision and paid the price. Yoda captured Sidious lightning and returned it to him in a blast so powerful that both lost their footing. Yoda was wise enough not to fight from an untenable position.

  • "I can feel your anger...it gives you focus, makes you stronga"...beautiful and true. He was right.

  • "Wipe them out.....all of them". I loooove that line.

  • @EXCAESAR I always repeat that line in my head when I run the weedwacker, or erase the whiteboards at my work.

  • lol he reminds me of an evil witch...

  • The end is just a montage of Luke getting psychologically owned.

  • Sexiest Villain in Cinema History.

  • My favorite character in the whole series.

  • One fucked up human being right there lol

  • Is it the same actor who plays in the original and the new films?

  • @georgesullivansparks yes it is, Ian McDiarmid is the actor. although in Episode V originally (when Vader makes contract with Sidious by hologram), it was actually a woman playing Palpatine, while Clive Revill provided the voice-over, but it was replaced while Lucas was making Revenge of the Sith.

  • 3:47 the best line in movie history in my opinion, and also my favorite

  • Next to "Evil" and "Badass" in the dictionary, they should just have a picture of Palpatine

  • I have waited a long time for this moment, my little green friend..

  • if the rule of the dark side is to have only two sith lords I wonder how emperor and vader expect to "turn" luke

  • @jam63112

by replacing/killing vader and luke take his place.

  • @jam63112 They were pretending to each other that turning him would be a joint effort, but each secretly desired to use him to kill the other and take Luke as an apprentice. Vader was trying to recruit Luke to his cause in ESB and you saw how quickly the emperor told Luke to kill Vader and take his place at his side. Sidious cared nothing for the crippled Vader, who was a shadow of his Jedi self, and I suspect that Vader secretly hated Sidious for all the tragedies he caused in his life.
