  • Lettuce is useless food for a turtleIt has no nutrients. Feed them worms, crickets, mealworms, etc. they also like berries, blackberries, muscadines, strawberries, etc.

  • @BVue2011 There scared. They moved to a new enviroment it natural if they dont eat for up to 2 months but ALWAYS offer food. And yes walk away after you put it in so it can eat in private.

  • @RK4226 if your turtle is a baby then that is perfectly natural because they mainly eat meat this is because in the wild they would eat bugs

  • what do they eat ? when they are babies

  • @killsthenoob they eat a high quality(reptomin/mazuri) pellet and a variety of greens. they will also eat shrimp and krill as treats. as babies they are mostly carnivorous but as they get older they take to the green more. they key is variety..don't always feed the same things

  • @SilentSerpents wat greens wouldu prefer having them eat. gave em some lettuce

  • I have a red eared slider! I love it!

  • He cut a backflip!! Sha baby!!

  • your tank is really cool!! :)

  • awesome tank, glad to see some people are saving these little ones from improper care! Correct me if i'm wrong, but they have trouble eating on land, and feeding them in water is better for the red eared slider?

  • @carplunk2

Correct. Red eared sliders use the water to help wash their food down their throats. It's just about impossible for them to eat on land. They will, however, grab food and run back into the water!

  • what did u use for the platforme under the rocks

  • 2:47 lol hes in his food bowl

  • you got cute little RES!

  • how old are your baby turtles when you shot the vid.

    by the way nice tank

  • my turtles wont eat, i dont know why.

  • Comment removed

  • @fuemanchue

Get live food, krill, shrimp, baby gold fish, meal worms, worms. Anything that stimulates. Change up your food, if you can't get them to eat normal food, get dried shrimp & meal worms and mix it with calcium powder you can get this all at a pet store.

  • @fuemanchue

turtles don't eat when the water temperatures are too cold because they are stressed

you need to get a thermometer and make sure that it is 75-86 degrees F (23.8-30 C!

I made this mistake at first too

be careful, water too hot and you will bake them.

    happy swimming :)!

  • what do i do if one of my turtles wont eat

  • @waco420

Get live food, krill, shrimp, baby gold fish, meal worms, worms. Anything that stimulates. Change up your food, if you can't get them to eat normal food, get dried shrimp & meal worms and mix it with calcium powder you can get this all at a pet store.

  • same as mine.. the big one is biting the small one thats why I place her on another container., Anyway Im not planning to breed them....too much RES population lol..

  • @eynjel30 just wait till the little one gets bigger but for now keep them seperate

  • awh!!!!

    i love it,and your tank<3

  • wow get some river rocks or something in teh bottom of that dang tank and hope u know they can grow up to a foot and u need 10 gallons of water for one inch of turtle and for red eared sliders they are pond turtles and indoors over 100 150 gallons for 2 u wil hope u have the money to keep em they are not cheap turtles they get really really big u need a way big 150 gallon tank just look it up on how big they ccan get ihave raised them for 30 years

  • lil turtles :D

  • I have a question : My basking area is flat ...and my turtles are 3 baby turtles...about the same size as your baby turtles...Should I put my tank's water level same as the basking area's height? Please reply as soon as possible...Thanks :) And why do you put fishes into the aquarium? For them to eat? (I am curious haha)

  • @0909Pilot well i can answer your questions. you should out the water level just below the basking area so that your little turtles can get up there :] but thier basking area does NEED to be higher than the water so your turtles can have a nice dry spot to dry out completely. if your basking area has water on it then your water level is too high and you MUST lower it. and yes, the fish are for the little guys to eat. its goood to keep small fish in the tank so that your turtles can learn to hunt

  • Wow ! I love your tank..But just a notice : Dont put your water level too high or your turtles might jump out of the tank !! I love it !

  • the comment that must have cost $200 was my son. But I did want to say nice tank, and cute turtles, and I like your video.

  • im getting 2 2morrow and i have a 40 gallon. is that big enough for 2 babies? please answer

  • @ninjaturtlemango300 yeah that should be fine

  • thanks :)

  • @ninjaturtlemango300 ten gallons for every inch of turtle...so for babies that are about an inch or two then yes...remember babies arent really strong swimmers so they need resting spots

  • awesome i was like, is that poor thing stuck in a filter!?!

  • awww they so cute!!! my sis one at Coney Island and we have no turtle knowledge so we might give it away. but my mom wants it! D= we need to copy your habitat

  • This is the cutest habitat!!! My kids just love your video and want to watch it every day!

  • can u keep baby red eared sliders with fully grown ones?

  • @JoeyJoeyJoey16 no, the older ones will damage the younger ones :(

  • what can i put with my res?a salamander?another turtle?a frog?pls tell me an eel?

  • @mikaboom123 I would say another RES sicne they r of the same speices and will probally get along. Salamanders and definatly an eel wont work. And a frog i dont think is apprpiate.

  • aww their so cute!

  • i just got some new baby red eared sliders and there kick ass!!!...this video made me get them lol..and i think my big one dont like them lol

  • If you purchased from ANY business they broke Federal Law and should be reported to the FDA. That 4" law is in place to prevent salmonella poisoning in children, and has been on the books since 1975.

  • @PineappleMama fuck you pig lover

  • @PineappleMama That 4 inch law is a pile of shit. back then in 1975 they had not technology to test turtles for that. It has been proven that turtles under 4 inches don't have a higher chance of getting salmonella then 4 inch+ turtles. Any turtle can get salmonella at any time of their life. And if anyone gets salmonella it's their fault for not washing their hands after they touch or do anything with the turtle.

They are just to stupid remove that dumb law.

  • @BaseballCardFreek i guess the law was implied for the reason that there was a case that an 5years old kid swalow a smaller than 4inches turle.. that is why the law was formulated and yes it is an obligation of pet owners as well as the petshops...

until now does the law promulgate??

  • @tan121285 The kid swallowing a turtle is a idiot.

  • seriously nice tank! but wont the turtle eat the fishes?

  • @mussica26 That's why they're in there. For the turtles to eat.

  • I HAVE TO RED EAR SLIDERS AND THERE FOUR MONTHS OLD BUT THERE STILL SMALL

  • ahh their so cute

  • can red ear turtles live along with gold fish ?

  • lmao that was the funniest jump i have ever seen lmao

  • You're tank is wonderful ..its just like a playground!! How did you make the dry area ?!?

  • @EDDyPOP14 looks like he has a fish tank on a table and then a mounted plank with 3 walls on the top of the edge of the fish tank probably sitting on something. then it has a see through ladder leading from the bottom of the tank to the dry area. very handy crafty work :o

  • @rollen01 Do you think it's plexiglass, plastic or just like an aquarium glass ?!?

  • @EDDyPOP14 probably plexiglass it's more see through then plastic and you can screw it onto anything if you make the wholes

  • IF they are baby probably mine is hatchling my is like 3/4 of this turtle

  • Ahh! I love your turtles, they're so cute. I'ver had turtles for a long time, but haven't in the past couple years (decided to try sugar gliders out). This one site has buy 1 get 2 free, so hopefully I'll be getting them again before too long. I love your cage too, very awesome... :)

  • btw awesome video :)

  • can i use a normal fluorescent bulb for the uva uvb light? and a halogen bulb for heat? cause there are no custom bulbs for reptiles where i live. and just leave my turtles outside in a tub with a basking spot during daytime for their sun exposure, but i would just want them to stay in their tank. what type of light bulb would you suggest?
