That's a sick ass setup bro! I just got a baby res today he's in a 10gal right now, can't wait to make him a sick tank! But gotta tend to the pythons and geckos first haha!
I just got my two red ear sliders two days ago and they won't eat. Someone help me please!! I'm worried that's they're going to die :( They're still babies. I tried different sorts of turtle food already, but they're still not eating. Please answer ASAP!!
@BVue2011 well i had one too that did the same thing:(and it died on the second week so you might wanna go ask petsmart or somebody who knows what to do.sorry
@BVue2011 check the temperature and level of the water, they wont eat if its too cold. Try walking away after putting the food in, may be they are still shy. I hope they eat!
@BVue2011 There scared. They moved to a new enviroment it natural if they dont eat for up to 2 months but ALWAYS offer food. And yes walk away after you put it in so it can eat in private.
I found a baby turtle today and I'm not sure what kind it is......It has a black shell and the bottom is red with black in the middle, and a black head with yellow on it
Don't your turtles eat the fish? When we bought our turtles the man we purchased them from told us not to put them in a tank with small fish because they will attack them. Now I'm confused. :( Cute turtles! How big are they now?
OMG can u help me with mine ?? :( i bought it 4 days ago, it's eye is shot! the man told me i have to put so little water for it, not a huge tank as this one?
it's not eating and not even swimming, just sits there on a stone for days!!! :( i'm really worried about it, i have no idea what to do! =[
@collibeez ok some times they need rest but get little lettuce and feed it little by little then once its big enough give it fish if that doesnt help then ur turtle might be growing cuz i have one and its 2 yrs old and its half of its size. so hope this help
@killsthenoob they eat a high quality(reptomin/mazuri) pellet and a variety of greens. they will also eat shrimp and krill as treats. as babies they are mostly carnivorous but as they get older they take to the green more. they key is variety..don't always feed the same things
awesome tank, glad to see some people are saving these little ones from improper care! Correct me if i'm wrong, but they have trouble eating on land, and feeding them in water is better for the red eared slider?
Correct. Red eared sliders use the water to help wash their food down their throats. It's just about impossible for them to eat on land. They will, however, grab food and run back into the water!
Get live food, krill, shrimp, baby gold fish, meal worms, worms. Anything that stimulates. Change up your food, if you can't get them to eat normal food, get dried shrimp & meal worms and mix it with calcium powder you can get this all at a pet store.

hello every1..i have questions,i have 2 red ear slider turtles and both of them are males they're about 3 yrs old..and recently i bought another 2 baby turtles..my question are,is it fine if i put them together in a tank??is it possible that the adults would "KILL" the baby's??or should i put them in the same tank if the baby's get little bigger??(please help me what should i do..)
can i use a normal fluorescent bulb for the uva uvb light? and a halogen bulb for heat? cause there are no custom bulbs for reptiles where i live. and just leave my turtles outside in a tub with a basking spot during daytime for their sun exposure, but i would just want them to stay in their tank. what type of light bulb would you suggest?
I have a six month old red eared female. its about three inches long, i would like to get a male, i would like to get a baby male. would it kill the small male??
Is it possable for a stinkpot turtle to be breed with a red eared slider? I am asking becaues i recently received a turtle and i do not know what species he is. He has the face, legs, shell pattern, and habit of a stinkpot. But he has a shell pattern, red bloch on his neck as a red eared slider. Also he has the bottom shell pattern of both. So if any body knows if this is true or if they know what species it is please tell me.

turtles don't eat when the water temperatures are too cold because they are stressed
you need to get a thermometer and make sure that it is 75-86 degrees F (23.8-30 C!
I made this mistake at first too
be careful, water too hot and you will bake them.

can i use a normal fluorescent bulb for the uva uvb light? and a halogen bulb for heat? cause there are no custom bulbs for reptiles where i live. and just leave my turtles outside in a tub with a basking spot during daytime for their sun exposure, but i would just want them to stay in their tank. what type of light bulb would you suggest?

Is it possable for a stinkpot turtle to be breed with a red eared slider? I am asking becaues i recently received a turtle and i do not know what species he is. He has the face, legs, shell pattern, and habit of a stinkpot. But he has a shell pattern, red bloch on his neck as a red eared slider. Also he has the bottom shell pattern of both. So if any body knows if this is true or if they know what species it is please tell me.
P.S. he has a curved under belly.
