  • another fantastic track guaranteed to get me up on the floor

  • Ian - this is a fantastic posting - along with Carl Carlton, Bob Relf etc. Can you tell me if the 'disco' versions are available on vinyl or as downloads anywhere? I have the originals of all of these (NOT for sale!!!) but would love these too. I'm not even gonna ask where you got the videos! Absolute Class. Thanks.

  • We legitimately filmed all these artists and re-recorded all these songs.

  • what a corker of a tune, love it!!

  • Check out the extended 12" version anyone got a copy for sale? Pure class

  • So this is what Alfie Davison looks like. I always imagined him as some blue-eyed soul singer, like Gordon Grody or Ray Dahrouge. This is a great song.

  • No, Alfie Davison is most definitely a black man.

  • A fab floorfiller, you've done it again Ian, keep the faith, another straight into favourites, and recognition to A.D. too for recording a classic.

  • LOL how good it IS*

  • Just dug-out all my old 45s, got this on a sos double a side pressing(nothing special)!

    Love this version better though!

  • I first heard this track when it was featured on a tv drama called "Wedding Belles" in the UK last year.. ever since I've been trying to find information on Alfie Davidson and who he is - finding this and seeing him for the 1st time has made my day and brought a teat to my eye - thank you so much for making this, posting it & Thank you Alfie! x

  • that was a great show,it was wonderful to see this track included, brought a big smile to my face and 100 phonecalls from friends saying are you watching wedding bells on the telly just now, terrific

  • love this track, first heard in Tiffany's at great yarmouth 1983 (scooter rally), good memories that still give goosebumps!

    Martin

  • I always play the SOS 7" single of this whenever I DJ at any function! Always goes down a storm. Great to see Alfie!

  • Brilliant floater !

Hope Alfie benefits from us all seeing this.

  • Although YouTube is free, and I put up all these videos for free, videos which cost a fortune to go to America and film, at least it gives both exposure and recognition to the artists.

I just try to survive and make good music, so that people who think the same way I do can still have great new music to hear.

  • Dear Ian

I was Alfie's manager when love is serious business came out in 1979. For many years I havent know if he was alive or dead. If you have contact info, i would very much appreciate it.

    Martin

  • It was Reid Whitelaw who found him for me, but that was nearly ten years ago when we filmed this.

  • Dear Ian

    Thank you.

    Martin
