@newalm That is funny.....good ears. Actually, that was my Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) alerting me to other air traffic in the area. It happens sometimes when you get close to other aircraft like in a busy airport area such as San Francisco International.
I just subscribed to your interesting channel. I hold a sport pilot license and enjoy shooting POV videos also. I really liked this landing. Thanks for posting.
The first time I watched your video, I assumed you were a student pilot learning multi-engine aircraft landings and wasting lots of runway -but- then I read your comments and your strategy makes lots of sense. It takes more then skill to be a professional; I'm sure your courtesy is very much appreciated by other pilots and the tower. Great flying!!!!! (I'm not a pilot but I've sat in the right seat of private planes many times, the thrill never goes away)
I landed long because of the intersecting takeoffs and landings from Runways 28 L & R and on 1L and 1R......and also to shorten my taxi time to the gate at Signature Aviation. If I could land on the ramp.....I would !
Hi Ivy...yes....I am a Professional Pilot. The window looks so wide because I had the camera propped up against the windscreen, so as to give you the best view of what I can see when I am flying.
This particular aircraft is called King Air. I was working for a Charter company in Northern California when I took this video. I have worked for an airline before as well....SkyWest (United Express).
Thanks. I guess if I could have the perfect world, I would be chartering people in a Harrier Jet....LOL...Drop them off right where they need to be....but until that fantasy-filled day comes though, I'll just have to keep planning out those landings....they're still fun.
Yeah, when flying into San Francisco on 28 Right, I like to make a long landing to be rounding out and landing on or after the crossing runways (1 Left/1 Right)....that way I don't hold up someone waiting for takeoff clearance from tower...and it minimizes my taxi time to Signature Aviation!
Cool video. You rarely get to see the view that the pilot gets when flying into our airport!

Nice video and landing! Thanks, for sharing. What are the landing fees at SFO (if you happen to know)?
JettSetJeff 1 year ago
@JettSetJeff These days, for a King Air 90, it's about $396 if you don't purchase fuel. For a King Air 350, it about $478.

Nice landing. Good strategy to land long and roll perfectly into Signature.

I was about to say something about how high you were, but then when I saw how much runway you had and where your turn off was...
