Not everyone who believes in God is of the Christian faith. Leaving the mention of God in our pledge and on our money does not indicate Christian only, nor is it referring to any one specific Christian religion. We have freedom of religion. I was a school teacher and there students who were atheist/against nationalism. They had the right to not participate in the pledge but they could not disrupt out of respect. There are people who do not believe in marriage, so do we simply ban marriage?
It's impossible for me to simultaneously adhere to my beliefs while using the legally sanctioned method of showing my loyalty to my country - because of a law, passed by Congress, that needlessly involved religion. It's not a big deal, but there's not an iota of doubt that the Pledge violates the Establishment Clause. That people want to keep "under God" shows that they don't really respect what the Constitution says.

Many, many, many, many songs never make it to the radio because the record companies choose other projects to "push" to radio. I worked in a country radio station and this song was released in 2006, WAS played on many radio stations, but just didn't sell well. It's not a conspiracy, it's capitalism. Come on... Not everyone who believes in God is of the Christian faith. Leaving the mention of God in our pledge and on our money does not indicate Christian only, nor is it referring to any one specific Christian religion. We have freedom of religion. I was a school teacher and there students who were atheist/against nationalism. They had the right to not participate in the pledge but they could not disrupt out of respect. There are people who do not believe in marriage, so do we simply ban marriage?

It's not a big deal, but there's not an iota of doubt that the Pledge violates the Establishment Clause. Just for everyone talking bad about this song....No one is forcing you to listen to it...You have different radio stations in your vehicle and on your home radio...There is even different stations on ITunes...SO give it a rest!!!!!!!!! We still have freedom of speech right? Well, Diamond Rio is expressing this right!!!! This song was NEVER banned...it was NOT released as a "SINGLE" by the label....many, many, many, many songs about God and Jesus are on the radio and have been forever. Many, many, many, many songs never make it to the radio because the record companies choose other projects to "push" to radio. Diamond Rio hasn't had a "hit" on the radio since the 90's.....sorry....if Kenny Chesney put it out...it WOULD be a hit ON THE RADIO.

I do not know how many soldiers youu know. I know hundreds and hundreds and not one says this is a slap in the face. God is the force that supports all soldiers. I have just been reading "The Catholic's Prayer Book" it is cover with an metal cover that says "For God and our Country" It was issued to some soldier in 1932. It is great reading.

When I hear a song like this, and read the many comments loving it, it scares me. It amazes me that our system has endured, because it's absolutely clear that a huge number of people have no clue what liberty is about, and no capacity to understand even the most gross and obvious distinctions (like the difference between restriction on the state's promotion of religion, versus the individual's religious liberty). The USA has a huge population of extremely stupid people.
