P.S.: die Serie ist nur bis etwa Folge 3x06 wirklich gut. Danach hat sie zwar immer wieder gute Stellen, besteht aber zu nem guten Teil aus Füllepisoden und Mysterien, die nie so richtig aufgeklärt werden.

I actually watch this vid now and cringe a bit, it's a good idea by crap execution - I never even timed the music with the vid that well - you can tell it was one of my first videos. I will update it for sure but I'll do it all from scratch, just not sure what music I'll use - I may let the youtube community decide.

Great video - a group of friends and I watched it. We found the music to be particularly poignant - "back in the cell, what have I done?". We've all felt like that before, haven't we?

science fiction can't ever be poignant? I'll write a letter to the whole genre and let them know, it will mean cutting a huge amount of material from a huge number of books and films.

The genre doesn't lend itself well to greater meaning. However, I did find one short story, "The Dead Planet", written by Edmond Hamilton before 1946 (that was the copyright date), that was decades ahead of its time conceptually, and was indeed, incredibly poignant.

Childhood's End, by Arthur Clarke came close, but didn't quite get there.

So thinking about it I stand corrected. Science fiction can on very rare occasions be poignant.

Well, I was meaning more that just like in any genre, the mood and the emotions come from the story at hand. Scifi as a setting doesn't dictate what can and can't be displayed.

If it matters, "The Dead Planet" last appeared (to my knowledge) in a collection of short stories edited by Sam Moscowitz called "Exploring Other Worlds", Published in 1963.

Very well. Currently advising on a major battlescene and this is a long process, as this series is a long, long run, but we did get to sit down and watch post production on one episode and I'm not ashamed to say I cried my eyes out. Going to be a very tough opening stanza to watch for the fans. It'll win an Emmy for sure.

Some I used a capture card for..so when it came on tv in England, I just taped it then captured that on to my computer using Pinnacle 9.0 and some I had a friend in America send over to me...same deal, got the tape and captured it. That's why you see some from Sky One and some from Sci-fi
