What are these sirens used for? Tornado warnings, I assume, but I didn't think tornadoes were all that common in CT. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Here in Western Oregon, we rarely get thunderstorms, let alone any tornadoes. We don't even have sirens for any occasion - sometimes wildfire sirens up in the mountains, but those are WAY to far for me to hear (60+ miles?).

I find sirens a little creepy! This was a nice video, though eerie.
