You need diplomacy and an ability to create relationships and work together with allies in order to defeat Al-Qaida. They're not really in Iraq and never truly were. Al-Qaida in Iraq was bit a small contigency. Al-Qaida themselves are mainly in Pakistan and Afghanistan. I'm not a neo-liberal like Obama but the man is correct and Canada has been saying this for quite some time (as we're the ones battling the front lines in Afghanistan). Is it just me or is there a major league "humanity" gap between surrogates on the left and right? 9 times out of 10 I find the lefties to be actual people, where the right wingers tend to be really flat in their affect. When they do show emotion it tends to be somewhat robotic. Carly Fiorina vs. Sen. Clair McKaskill on a morning show was a case in point. Fiorina made facial expressions, but they all seemed really fake and forced. Clair came off as a real person, but Carly, much like an HP.

2) The violence stopped in Baghdad the moment it was ethnically cleansed.

3) There was a cease-fire agreement made that had nothing to do with the surge.

4) Al Quida was never a force in Iraq...EVER!!
