  • i would just recommend to make your stirrups just a few holes longer so it would be more comfortable on the ground but still short enough to jump u still did a really good job :-)

  • I like this video

  • /watch?v=rI2v31F1DS8

  • Btw I also love how everyone on here thinks they are all pro riders and their shit don't stink. Ride how you're taught to ride and put your stirrups wherever you feel comfortable.

  • Ahh youtube, I love how someone puts a video up because they are excited about riding and just want to show people and then you have these mindless assholes who start youtube wars on their video for no reason. I think all of you who started shit needs to grow up and let it go because no one cares. Btw great riding, I hope you keep at it :)

  • im not trying to be nasty but y r u going into half seat about 5 strides befor the jump

  • @puppydyl maybe she's doing that to make her position better, i know i had to. if your position is halfway there before the jump its much easier over the jump - not saying this is how to jump but its helpful when you are learning :) x

  • stirrups are way too short!

  • Your good ! And to all the haters, put your Horse Riding video on line! Lets see you ride!

  • @TheXxHELENxX best comment ever. thank you.

or as the man says put up or shut up.

  • you should know a rul that your not supposed to wear sleevless tops

  • @SpiritGrace You can wear sleevless tops.

  • @rokgirl86 your not supposed too its been a thing since medieval many people obviously dont practice it any more but great riding

  • You shouldn't be saying the rules of horseback riding, because you don't know them. You post too high and aren't a good rider. Sorry!!!

  • @bunnyandponylove

keep your bad comments to yourself..

  • @TheCountryChick101 Sorry! I was just in a bad mood that day and I didn't mean it. :(

  • @bunnyandponylove This girl is a lovely rider, obviously she has room for improvement but she will get even better than what she is now. So keep your bad comments to yourself because it's really mean saying things like that to riders, it makes them feel down hearted and not want to ride or post videos on youtube because there is people like you who can;t stand someone elses acheivments.

  • @rokgirl86 Sorry I was in a bad mood and I didn't mean it. I feel really bad now, I don't know what I was thinking. :(

  • @bunnyandponylove

Maybe you should say that to the rider, but it's really nice of you to own up to your silliness. We do sometimes get into those moods.

  • @MerryandTimmylove She obviously has room more improvement, we don't start off proper rate good do we? You don't even know this girl, she uploaded this many years ago. She probably be really good now. Hateing doesn't get you anywhere, just gives you a reputation for being a jerk

  • @rokgirl86 and you have a reputation for bad grammar and spelling...the world sucks doesn't it.

  • @Chromeo2step What the heck do you mean? At least I am able to start a sentence with a capital letter, practice what you preach!

  • @rokgirl86 Trollin' the internets one day at a time...

  • You should give me your horse :P haha

  • I love to see A Strong woman like that riding

  • Wow, i really like your horse! All his gaits are floaty, and his jump looks really comfortable!

  • The only thing i see wrong is your hands, other that that you look fabulous!

  • One niggle, does his saddle fit, it just looks like he's a bit uncomfutible in his back. And on the front veiw looked a bit narrow for him.

I could be wrong but you can never be to sure.

    It's a fab vid though

  • u r a very very good rider! u and ur horse r well matched and u look great up in the saddle!

and also... when u ask for the canter and ur horse picks up the incorrect lead, NEVER do a flying lead to change it to the correct lead because it can give them bad habbits!

  • u r a very very good rider! u and ur horse r well matched and u look great up in the saddle!

  • you know your stirrups are too short if... Your knee shoots over the knee roll! either go down on them, or stretch you leg... alot...

  • nice video!

  • hi :)

you look a realy good rider i wonder if u can give me some tips as i can canter but not on my new horse hes only young and doesn't know how so i need to get better at sitting to the canter befor teaching him. Is there any tips you can give me on cantering? thanks

  • sorry but i do have to say that when riding english it looks like you humping the horse. lol!

  • @peachey2021 From the sound of your comment, it doesn't sound like you actually horse ride, yourself. And no, you are not 'humping' the horse, you are trying to make it pick up some speed; or keep it going.

  • @horseloverforever11 it was just a joke, chill out, dont ya know how to laugh?!

  • @peachey2021 Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't know you were joking! But do you ride horses?

  • @horseloverforever11 yes i do. lol and i get self consious cause i always think that it looks like you humping the horse. lol so i figure what better way to make my self feel better than to make a joke, its what i do and say all the time to my family

  • @peachey2021 lol! Do you own your own horse?

  • You look really good for not riding that much, the only thing i noticed is that you puppy paw a little bit. So turn your hands up a little bit. Bend your elbows so that you have a straight line from your elbow to your horses mouth, and you could win all the Eq classes. Good lucky!! :)

  • really good, only problem is you go into jumping position waayyy too early, but i can never get it right ethire haha

  • Sit your Butt in the saddle, Dont ride hitching post Dear, Learn to keep your butt in the saddle, and put all your weight in your heals..

  • um, just a question, why why are you going in jumping position like four strides before the jump? otherwise, really good job :D

oh and in my opinoin you need to lengthen the stirrups a little bit.

i am not at all trying to be mean, i'm just saying

  • whoa their horsey! lol jk nice job <3 i just started horse back but its probaly my 4th lesson!

  • Good rider... here are a few tips to become even better, your stirrups do need to be lengthend at least a hole maybe two and that is contributuing to your posture which is bent remember keep your heels down and back straight and thumbs up lastly give with your hands when you jump your horse needs his head to complete a fluid jump....keep up the good work

  • even tho the jumps are tiny you should really try releasing. your horse needs to use its head when it jumps and it cant do that when u dont let go of its mouth. and try turning more off your leg. i always only use my rein and once i started turning off my leg and using outside halfhalts, my horse was sooo much better

:) u dont have to take my advice but i think it would help!

  • @barnbrat111 i'd love to jump but i have to canter before i can jump; my two-point is not that good.

  • Bloody gorgeous horse!

  • tbh i have been riding for 8 years im not that great my self and its not about all the possitions well it is but the main thing is isw to enjoy yourself btw your a great rider XD x

  • Nice work but your too tipped forward and work on your 2-point. but everything else very nice keep the good work up !

  • that horse is nice!! :]

  • you really need to sit up when you are comeing to the jump! and your toes need to be pointing in more, not so much out.

  • ummm... i dont want to be critical but you need to lengthen your strirrups it would be understandable if you were jumping really high but those jumps dont need super short stirrups. also try leaning back going in to the jump you seem to be leaning forward alot. you dont have to take my advice because im a really bad rider but i do know some things :)

  • omFg.

stirrups are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay 2 short, arms have to be bent and soft not ramrod striaght and if ur jumping dont fold forawrd till the horse starts taking off, it makes ir harder for him/her.

  • omg i ride at springdown now! hahahahahah best place ever! is that jake is ur vid??????

  • beautiful horse, what race is it?

  • ur goin into forward positon lik 15secs befor the jump

  • How comes you don't put your knees to the saddle? 'N you push your seat back in rising trot, its a forward motion?

  • you said one of the rules have fun???? with me when im riding it comes nautrally! and when you jump you go in your jumpping postion way before just relax and get you line p reafy first just saying:pand i toatally dis agree with bloodyclq you are so mean yes mabye her tits wobble but i think oyur jelous cus you aint got none and her horse seemed to bef ine and he is sooo cute you keep up the work:)

  • Some girls need to wear tighter tops and less tank top action.

  • i have been horsebackriding since 12 years but i m not really a pro but i know some tricks and i really appreciate the rules

    horses rulezz!!

  • your really good

  • Looks pretty good for someone who doesn't ride often! I think you know about everything I was going to say, but I just wanted to add that if you really sit up, you can use your back and your core muscles to hold your horse together a bit better. He got going a bit fast in a couple of spots; holding with your back, and sitting coming up to the fences, might help a bit.

Again, good job for an occasional rider! Keep it up!

  • wear a bra darling, your tits get more attention than your horse riding, you can help the horse if you lose some weight. you look chubby.

  • you are such an idiot. she doens't look shubby at all ! and if you are some perv who likes to look the breast of girls , that's not her fault , you sick perv

  • @CUTExLAMB What is a perv?

  • @horseloverforever11 perv is short for pervert.

  • @arkykittle oh. thank you!

  • i agree with the bra thing but the whole lose weight thing is rude and selfish! She does not need to lose weight and you are at no stance to tell her that she is chubby! she is not! do unto others as you would have them do to you.

  • u are probably much... CHUBBY (ER) than her! that is plain RUDE! gosh... people have no manners these days.

  • oh and as for the hands...pretend you are holding a hot coffee in each one just above the shoulder blades....ps...my coach actually brought out cups with water the one day and told me she'd give me a month free lessons if it didn't go below a certain line...woman must have known something because i am still paying her. it was a bit dramatic but the point was well taken.

  • rule #1: if you can't take the heat don't post urself on the internet! haha, she is learning so depending on how long - well done. compared to stephen peters she sucks! lol. take the advice / critism and make urself a better rider. my advice! ask ur coach to do bounce jumps...it will help your get you working on getting in and out of your two point. also lengthen your stirrups so you don't feel so tippy in the saddle. otherwise, have fun and keep at it your smile says i love horses!

  • Your sturups are really short! That must hurt! Ouch!

  • @sandyrun0947 i agree!

  • @sandyrun0947 i like my stirrups short too....

  • ha yr stirrups are wayy short , but you have an amazing seat. the stirrups are just killing me.

  • Oh please!!all who gives tips and notes think you are coaches!!! let all the comands and try to improve yourself!!you are acting as you are the perfect riders!!!i am sick of you!!every time you watch a video with someone who is not champion you start the critisism!!!Stop!!!!just watch it dont start saying things that you can´t even do in your own practise!!!!

  • i agree everybody has mistakes

and if peopl ered the description they would know that she knows her mistakes everybody has problems but in differnt ways and like she sed its a LESSON wich means LEARNING lol nobodys perfect !!!

  • haha omg his lead changes look so fun :D that would feel like a cool lead change :D

  • poor horse. you CAN'T ride it . o.O

  • tip: bridge ur riens so ur hands ar closer together. and also bend ur elbows more and ur hands wont move as much when you rise trot.

one more thing. u r bent at the hips to much. sit with a straighter back.

also give ur horse some rein when he trips.

    but well done any way.

  • there is nothing wrong with using your pelham, i use my pelham once in a while when my horse is a bit strong. good video, cute horse.

  • your stirrups are really short

take your feet out and then like do some trotting or something then put your feet back in the stirrups and see how short they really are, i used to have mine like that.

    It works :)

  • I used to have short stirrups and i always wondered why my feet really hurt, and i realized they where because of the stirrups length, (this was on zippy, 15.1hh cob, im quite small for her), and if you look at my older videos of her and my newer ones you can see the difference between lengths of them. So glad i have longer stirrups, feels a lot better (Y)

  • great hands! a lot of riders here on youtube can't seem to get it haha. you work very well with your horse.

  • lovely horse. you work great with him.

    remeber practice practice practive.

    good vid (Y)

    all the best.

    x

  • wow the fact that people seem to think they know everything always shocks me! you looked great, especially considering you don't get to ride that much. and honestly who cares if your heels aren't perfect, or your back isn't hunched why else would you be taking lessons if your not looking to improve. (and from a trainer not randoms on the internet who are posting under an anonymous name for a reason)

  • when i jump, i cant go in 2 point until i am right about off the ground, because my horse will bounce if its oxer, but she also tries to fly, so if ur doing poles infront of the jump, and you go into 2 point then, she will jump over the entire thing. but she usually clears.

  • its so weird some times when i jump like a am two-pointing and kicking the horse to go a couple more steps cause it looks like it will be a longer jump, so i will up higher in my two-point so when it jumps its back is close enough i can fallow, and i am all the way up there and they do i small jump!

  • oh and P.S. theres nothing wrong with a double bridle or pellham if you know how to use it. Very soft hands with one of those can yield finer control if the horse is trained and responsive to soft light aids. It shouldnt be used to force control, but instead to refine the aids. No bit is bad, its up to the rider and their hands

  • I just wanted to say, i still stand by my previous comment, but i think it came off a little rude and unnecessarily harsh , so i apologize if that came off mean.

  • wasnt it uncomfortable with the stirrups up that high?

    how did u trot comfortably?

but apart from stirrups i would say you were pretty good!

    xxx

  • stirrups are WAY too short!

  • JOCKEY STYLE!

    lol.

But yeah having short stirrups can sometimes be dangerous.

    ~X

  • HORRIBLE , SIMPLY HORRIBLE , poor horses , that footage tells me a lot about that school and its trainer ..... come on people

  • double bridles are fine it gives u more control id have one if my pony wasnt soo young but if its a fully schooled horse thats really easy to control then it doesnt need that bit but if its extra strong then ye it miyt need that bit and maybe your stirrups could be lengthened a couple of holes i no there meant to be short for jumping but not that short and try to lean back abit more

  • your stirrups are really short, your knee comes over the flap....which it shouldn't do.

  • im not tryin to be rude just want to understand bt y do u lean forward so far from the jump here in ireland most of the time you are taught to lean in jumpin position as the horse takes off bt ive noticed that in america most of the riders lean forward so far away from the jump i feel that u dont get as much implusion and its easier to fall off if the horse stops or runs out

  • Comment removed

  • its because she is a beginner. trainors here in america tell beginners to go to the 2point early that way they can perfect their position before they get to the jump. it also helps them learn not to jump up the horses neck and to keep their heels down. as you advance, we do it just like you and lean into the jumpin position as the horse takes off.

  • oh thanks very much i also wondered

  • i agree. i have always heard that "unless you are a God and can do it perfect there is no sense in doing something you will do wrong" many feel that two pointing before the jump makes them too much of a "beginner" but regardless of riding level i feel it is very important to master these baby steps before you can move up to the higher jumps...jumps that if you are not ready for can be dangerous :D

  • those bits are so evil i hate them!! ps. ur stirrups r fine and u hunch to much... bye :(

  • Great vid!

    I love horse-riding!

Watch and comment my vids please everyone!

  • I juts started horseback riding and i ♥ it!! (;

  • im gonna start horse lessons in like a week! so im pretty excited!

  • Good luck, but look, it will take time for you to do canter and those kind of things! And it isn't easy,so be carefull, and don't forget your helmet!

  • Youurr a good riderr :) xx

  • I believe that bit is a pelham with two reins. A pelham has only one bit, it might look like two because of the reins but there is definatly only one bit in that horses mouth.

  • your right its only a pelham but there are double pelhams also but to me it looks like a pelham with a chain underneath his jaw.

i have to agree its not nice and it should never have to be used especially on schooled horses.

but she does have nice hands i have to say

  • theres a horse at my lesson barn that has a pelham bit only because it gives the tiny little begginer kids who ride him more control cuz they are so little and havent built up any muscle or skill yet. his name's Loco :P

  • Horses are beautiful animals. BUT It would take a lot for me to get on one these days! I've been on a few horses when I was a kid but right now no way!

  • Actually, your stirrups weren't too short at all. They could've maybe go down a hole or two, but it really isn't that big of a deal. You didn't look uncomfortable and your balance was decent.

And don't worry about the hunching before 2-point. I'm sure you've fixed that by now, considering this video was posted in 2007. :]

  • stirrups that short are only appropriate for jumping high jumps and for riders with an excellent two point to keep perfect balance. Not in this situation. And stirrups are adjustable, no reason.

  • actually lots of people use sturrups how long have you been riding?

  • stturips are fine, i used to ride shorter then that on my horse obvi u guys have no idea what u are chatting about, and your take off is fine i can't see anything wrong with it, U have a gawjus horse and you work really well together =D happy riding =D

    Chaz

    XxX

  • i dont think it really matters if your stirrups are to short..if there wayyy to long then your bouncing on the horses back...but your not, nice riding! just remember to sit in the saddle until the horse takes off...i used to do what you dd and my horse always panicked and jumped way to early because h thought i was telling him to jump when i did that! :P but thats just my horse! cute horse!! and nice riding!

  • i just horse ride today..it was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you must put it on the 100 things you have to do before you die...lol

  • Despite everyone screaming "ur stirrups are too short!" their actually not that bad considering you were jumping. Many jumpers ride with their stirrups way short so don't feel bad :) You're a great rider who obvious cares about their horse, nice job!

  • Anywaym who's to judge if someone stirrups are too short right? xD

it's up to the rider! :D

  • stirrups are to short, jumping up the horses neck b4 jumps, and u need to pick ur hands up.

  • I agree your stirrups are really short!!!

  • yeah i have only been ridng for 1 day and i know strirrips shouldn't be THAT short

  • ur stirrups are waayyyy to shoorrttttt

  • Comment removed

  • ur sturips are way way wayyy to short

  • GOSH yuor stirrup leathers are SHORT

  • make them shorter :)

    always helps me.

    i had the same problem.

  • I like how you encourage your Jake by stroking his neck every so often. I like to do that just to let the horse know "I'm still here buddy, and I'm proud of you." Good ride, even though there was a few mistakes (which u explained), you handled the horse and the jumping course well.

  • by the way. I'm from europe so thats maybe a difference. good luck :)

  • you really have to short up your reins also, you have to be mutch softer in your hands while riding. You are good! keep up the good work :D

  • You don't need short reins to ride. It's more natural and comfortable for the horse to have looser reins. And it allows it to move more naturally preventing something such as falling, halting, refusing jumps, or trying to "run" away from the bit by speeding up and stumbling over a jump.

  • What would happen if you had long reins and your horse tripped over or stumbled over a jump??? If you have short reins you have a correct good contact all of the time, it stops the rein from moving up and down which annoys the horse and blocks the contact and you have, generally, more control =) but its your opinon

  • I didn't mean like super loose or super tight. Just tight enough to go over and stay under control, but not so tight that your horse is running away from the bit because you're keeping a steady pressure. I get what you're saying and I agree.

  • if the horse trips over a jump you're supposed to let them go so they can find their own balance...of course on the flat and juming you do want contact, but if they trip let them go

  • Comment removed

  • u rode a lame horse!!! WHAT??

  • Comment removed

  • THATS HORRIBLE. poor horse... the people in charge of ur camp r cruel!! u shd have speaken out! and said! "HECK NO I'M NOT RIDIN THIS POOR LAME HORSE!"

  • I didnt know I was until I finally got off and they told me! I know. I dont ride there anymore! They didnt even now until I was riding and their like OMG and they treated her right away. Dont worry! Horses are my life and I would never do anything to hurt them EVER!

  • ohhh ok! lol in ur comment it just didn't sound that way! ok thank god!!

  • LOL! Yeah, I would NEVER I repeat NEVER do that. Haha! But yes, I should have never put that in my comment. I did because it sort of related to the situation!

I watched some of your videos! Your a awesome rider. I subscribed! Could you maybe subscribe to me?

  • hahah... lol... sure...

  • Awesome!! Thank you so much!!

  • Ooh sorry just read the info... Really should have done that, please disregard the stirrup comment! :)

Do you still ride when you're not working? That's been my biggest challenge (I work full time too, and it's too dark after 6 at night!!)

  • Hi there, you rode really well, and I don't know the horse so I'm not gonna say a word about the spurs, but I'd pop those stirrups down a hole or two - your knees are sticking out the front of the saddle, and last time I rode that short - OUCHIES! Your poor thighs! :)

  • OMG!!!!PUT YOUR IRONS DOWN!

  • good job just try to not lean forward when u jump it wil same u lol:)

    good lead changes

  • i noe, i dont use spurs coz i can get my horse going well wnuf so, yeh

  • Nice Horse!

He already looks pretty alert in canter and jump, so you dont need spurs unless you horse is like my sisters, he wont move! also your looks like its swinging alot which means your leg might not be firmly on your horse which could also be why you think you need spurs, so you might accidently jab him. Sorry, just somthing you could improve

  • Actually spurs are used for finesse, not speed. If you are using them for speed you are not properly educated in the use of spurs.

  • nice video :)

  • can i just say i also don't agree w the spurs. are they really necessary? U should be able to use your leg not rely on something else to help

  • the spurs rip the skin they arent necessary

  • LOL u look good but ur had postion is terribale u have ur hand up wards wher ur thumbs r facing up.

  • Can we say WAY too short stirrups!!!!!!!!!! OMG

  • agreed, that will only harm your riding capabilities. you have to lengthen them like 2/3 holes and find a saddle with a longer flap for your longer legs.

  • i kno shes jumping but even for that it is a little rediculous.

  • OMG how short are your stirrups???~!?!?!?!

  • mach die steigbügel doch noch kürzer =)

  • yeah the stirrups are too short..when theyre longer you can sit better..you don't move soo much in the saddle.but i think for jumping it's ok ;)

  • there is no music on this but keep up th gd riding ;)

  • im not tryn to tell ya what to do but you would have a better and more comfortable ride if u had longer sturrips!!!!!!!!!!

  • well tbh, no horses like working, unless it has an extremely close bond with you! thats all im sayin ok! U may say ur horse loves bein ridden, but HOW THE HELL DO U NO THAT!!!!!! U ARENT THE HORSE!!!!!!! Maybe coz it keeps itself to its self!!!!! U can look it up on every nature site, horses sleep and eat, they like keeping the energy!! That is all I am trying to point out! ok??? please lets not fite over it!

  • maybehorses In fact my horse LOVES his job as a hunter/jumper. If he likes what hes doing his ears go floppy if he doesnt then they go stiff. Everytime that I ride him, guess what?!?! they go floppy!!!
