Having recently suffered an achilles rupture myself; I can tell you that it is a really tough injury. Mine happened while running innocently on the beach; then all of a sudden it felt like someone kicked my calf and snap (it was loud!). 6 weeks of plaster; 5 weeks of walking cast followed by lots and lots of rehab (still on-going).
