@rattlingchains Try wintergreen oil. I saw wintergreen oil demo'd at a letterboxing event. I'm pretty sure the image was an inkjet image. Rub a thin layer of wintergreen oil on the rubber. Lay the image on the rubber. Apply a thin layer of wintergreen on the back of the image. Rub the back of the image with the back of a spoon to help transfer the image to the rubber. Peel off the paper. Some drugstores carry wintergreen oil.
@TheMaxjrc not likely. the acetone usually fogs the plexi. You can probably print your design on inkject photo paper and then while it's still wet, try burnishing your image from the paper to the plexi without smearing too much.
It's the first step in creating a hand carved stamp. It's a method to transfer the image to rubber. The next step is to carve out the white space with a linoleum cutter and leave the black part of the transfer.
I've never tried it on canvas, only block printing material (erasers, nasco safety kut, speedball's speedy-stamp). The paper I used was laser-jet printer paper.
Excellent tutorial. Alas, I own an inkjet, so no dough for me! Guess I have to stick to tracing!

how's that a stamp? It comes right off and not beveled.

Will this method also work with tranfering images onto canvas? Also, can you tell me what kind of paper was used for the printed image? Thanks!

Sorry you can't use an inkjet printer. I've never tried transferring to another medium. You might want to try it on a small piece of cloth.

can you use an inkjet printer, and can you print the image on fabric (like silk or cotton) as well as a rubber stamp??.

Yes, unfortunately it doesn't work with every printer. I use an old HP Laserjet 5P printer. It has something to do with the toner.

I can't get this to work. Does it only work with certain printers?
