I just think everyone who thinks they have synesthesia is tripping acid. I watched another video saying acid can give you temporary synesthesia. TRIPPY BRO
Huh. I usually don't see THIS much color when I listen to that music. Violin is generally around the lighter red with a white faded outline. It's waves, like in the video, but I get the feeling it's moving forward more than this is. I love listening to a bass drum. It's generally this black hole that blocks out some of the right portion of the color and sucks it in.
Your language was amazing ^^ The violin part made me see red and blue sorta things-like they were piled on top of each other and then they turned into a octagon sorta thing o.o"
Watching that little segment with the music made me feel sick because it's so... wrong... (at least for me). The colors don't change like that, you can't just go from a green to a red and back again otherwise it's wrong. Furthermore.... individual instruments can't change color(they can change shade but not hue). A violin will always be royal blue, for example.
you're right. For me, a violin will always be pale yellow (but I always see texture with it - a light line with feathering off the sides..) An instrument for me, I can't say for others, will always be one color only with different shades here and there.
For me a violin tends towards both yellow and blue. I know it sounds strange but the high notes always come in a pale creamy yellow but the low notes a pale powder blue. The shade may change, but the colour rarely does, but it's interesting that both you and Amberdrakey picked the only two colours I've ever seen from a violin. I wonder if there's a consensus between most synaesthetics.
2:30 to 3:30 was eery for me. I get it as a blanket of colour, not blobs dancing, so the wavy line was totally off, but the colour was perfect.... maybe a little too much red. I was thinking Green, then Blue then at the large note huge wave of Blue turning to purple, with a slight hint of purple throughout. I know I'm synaesthetic but I thought the colours seen by everyone was different. I didn't realise there was a unified pattern to it.
so when you watch a music video, do you see colors over the video?, or lets say when driving and listening to music do the colors block the road possibly? soo interesting...
It's not really like that, I see the colours almost as though I was watching everything through coloured glasses. It's like being at a disco, with the constant changing lights. I can still see everything it's just it becomes tinted in that colour and the colour is permanently changing, fading in and out. The only way it would become overwhelming is with really high pitch sounds, which I see as yellow and white, as they can actually be so bright it's like having a torch shone in my face.
if you are imagining it, then it is not synesthesia. Mine is automatic and I can't turn it off and on, it just happens. It is repeatable and involuntary..
You can not be get occasional synesthesia unless you are doing drugs....
i think im an occasional synesthete!!...i am a guitarist, and when i get into something i am playing or really enjoy a piece of music, i imagine certain images, or memories mixed with colour. ..i love hendrix more than anyone can imagine, while learning one of his songs, it was amazing; different chords were taking on different forms, like red people, and colourful places.....anyone know if this is exactly synesthesia..?...thanks for any help!
actually i am a synaethetic and i associate different sounds with different colors and different letters with different colors i am also an emotional synaethetic and that is seeing "auras". and i have been like that as long as i could remember and i thought it was completely normal until i saw and read more and learned that not many think of things in that way. its not exactly a "problem" i think its just a different way of viewing the world.
yes it is! i was talking to my mom about this and many people do NOT associate colors or anything with different sounds. for example when i was little i would play the piano and i'd call a certain song i'd play "the purple grape song" bc when i heard it in the back of my head i thought of purple grapes.
hey wait are you telling me you see auras? I NEVER met any synaesthete that could wow. I do to but the ones I met or talked to never had anything like that! I mean I met those who associate emotions or moods or relationships stuff like that with color but i never met one with mines. I have Personality-Color so a person's "aura" Doesnt change and its color matches up with their personality. I mean I dont want to sound like a quack but thats me. You too?!?!?!?!
YES! and like if you arent too close with someone or if they're cold to you their more of a dingy grey? i never knew anyone that had this either!! im like in shock right now wow! add me as a friend on youtube!
nah I dont get grey auras at all. They always have a color. I think its body language. My subconscious picks up on that and assigns a color that sticks. I have like 7 colors that tell me the basics of a persons personality. I am also a projector so I literally see the aura around the persons whole body. Also They get brighter on certain emotions like anger or happiness. I have a question. Do u "see" your own aura? I don't and I always wondered if that was normal or as normal as u can get.
yeah i some times do but if you want to learn how to see yours if your having trouble raise your arms and put them flat and put your finger tips together, make sure they are having a white background behind them and you focus on them and quickly pull them apart. tell me if this helps!
Nah, I actually see a layer of colored light around people. When I think of a person their color is also in my mind. When I think of myself I think of the color violet but I do not see a layer of violet shinning around my body as I would see a yellow light shinning from my friend. I was wondering if that was a bad thing or just a me thing
I see like... forms and figures and weird stuff painted for me in my head when I listen to music. The sound always looks the same. Like... violins are usually on the red end of the spectrum, ranging from yellow to deep red. Electric guitar is BRIGHT, and usually on the red end, too. Electric piano is a glowing blue to me. Regular piano is white at first, the bright glowing blue, the blue, the dark blue, the black as it changes with time.
hm something to add, i'm not an synaestetic but sometimes when im sick or sth. i experience synaesthic dreams and sometimes under alcohol's influence i feel songs like mathematical elements ?!
But sounds pretty cool. I can only think music as notes (I've been in a musical class in school for 4 years) and sound, though recently I've found out I also feel warm and cold when I listen to some music. O_o

What about when you see sounds?
I cannot hear sight, though...
RawrgasmsAreFun 1 year ago
The perception part for me was freakishly accurate. I hear strings, I see waves, generally dark blue, but not like the ocean.

I am synesthetic too. Me niether i don't know how it is to not see colours in places. My synesthesia is less strong.

Oh, also, the blue makes me feel cold. I feel warm or cold depending on the music, when the blue gets stronger it feels like the temperature drops.
