4Kids cut out this scene because SEGA America doesn't favour Sonic having a relationship. SonAmy, Knuxouge, Shamaria etc is all fan made and although SEGA of Japan add in little snippits of other characters fantasies, the contract signed with Sega of America and 4Kids allowed them to change some scenes to a certain extent. Sonic and the other males were never meant to have a proper relationship, and the Archie comics are prehistoric and inaccurate to what Sonic's birth state was meant to be.
