Really awesome guides, guys! (and refreshing to hear familiar accents, from a brit stuck in the US!) - I've just returned to raiding after a horrific 8month gap from WoW and was informed that we were taking a step back to Firelands, cause they want to get me offset gear and the title. My guild does this fight much differently.

We spread out before the cleave so everyone can get their concentrated buff and maximize dps.

We take 6-7 leaps and rotate 2 people per orb.

We found even before the nerf this strategy was very effective.

for a raid with lower dps and lower healing i think its best to use a strat. where you never have a scorpion swipe. you will get 2 seed/orb phases but the overall healing required is much much lower.

I think most 10 mans keep him in cat more because with competent ranged dps and healers you will barely have raid damage. Normally when I'm healing this my mana goes down in scorpion and back up in cat.

Adding. have to disagree with you that with this type of tactics we had no prob with dps or healers we where all 378 or less geared and had no problem with the dps or healing requirement. All this fight requires is that dps are good enough to not get themselves killed on the orb phase. after that phase it's a pisstake.

I like the fact that you guys did it the proper way. Our guild did it the same without watching videos ect and basically one shot it. Just ran in did it as normal with 3 ppl outside. 2 dps and one healer. We did it with only two healers though and took the scorp adren stack to 9 at the most. was on 10% after orb phase.

Turned it to scorp took 4 scythes back to cat and killed it.

I just can't understand why most ten man guild keeps him in cat 99% of the time This boss is a piece of shit really.

There's an easier way to do this fight now which severely reduces the DPS and healing requirements (to the point where it's almost as easy as shannox). Basically, this involves having no flame scythes at all. This way you can bring 7 DPS and 2 healers and nobody in melee range loses their concentration except on seeds/orbs. Although he gets lots of fury stacks, it's still never enough to one shot people with proper execution. We downed it in two nights with this method with barely any 391 gear.

our raid starts moving around 90ish percent power so to avoid all damage from the leaps if your moving when he leaps at you and you don't stop , with speed enchant on boots you can avoid all damage. It works best to have everyone in a circle around the boss and move together in set direction. You may need to go a little higher than 90% power at first and a little lower as he pulls off more leaps and the power builds faster.

If they used a Hunters pet to tank the boss then they was exploiting a glitch - that is now fixed.

If they're using a Prot Paladin to AD the First Scythe that has now also been fixed.

I was thinking the same. All they do is go to scorpion form to reset adrenalin on staghelm then spread out before the first scythe land. Then do cat form as normal. A shield tank would def be the best for the strat. I wonder if the healing will be enough in 10 man. Did they have to deal with seeds? Or was it just orbs?

I love your videos, but just wanted to point out 10% concentration bar doesn't increase damage by 10%. There's 4 intervals, 25% 50% 75% and 100%. those are the 4 levels of concentration. Regardless keep up the great work

The spirits share threat with the boss, so it will automatically attack the tank (assuming he's #1 on threat).

@eowor if the tank hasnt hit the spirits they ignore the tank untill he does, this is fairly simple unless you screw something up (plus the boss could be 105% threat on a dps, and thusly the cats attack that player insted of the tank on spawn)
