  • Saw this same bike in a pawn shop for $3,200.00 with 33k miles (2002 Roadstar) - was tempted to buy it....they're great bikes for the price.

  • Nothing against Harley, but i think that the fact that Yamaha's Star motorcycles have been growing faster than the market says something... I feel like its a matter of preference and of course price

  • I think it is funny how elitist people get about their bikes...

  • Doesn't matter what it is, that's a bad ass bike! I ride a Harley Davidson and I'll still say it's a bad ass bike! Sorry, I just don't drink the orange and black Kool Aid...and give credit where it's due.

Some of these yammer hammers out here are just plain SICK! Their following is growing and growing...same thing for Victory.

  • Nice Harley Softail..Oops I mean nice wanabe a Harley Softail. Good Luck on the resale

  • @wq1299 Resale? That only counts if you plan to dump the bike. If you prefer to pay twice as much for a bike that is inferior, that's your perogative. Most of the HD owners around here love my bike- but not as much as I do. The "HD or nothing" folks crack me up!

  • @Yamahog12 No it counts when you keep a bike for 5 years and get most of your return to upgrade to a new bike. I bet this heap will bring 3K in 5 years if that. A similar Softail will bring 10K-14K in 5 years. And you are right, I would rather walk than ride that rip off, I would rather ride the real bike, not the impostor. Most of those HD owners are just being nice, they are really laughing inside.

  • @wq1299 What makes the HD a "real bike"? The price tag? Most HD owners worry about resale because they know they can't really afford the damn thing. I'd put my 2001 Roadstar up against any similar sized cruiser. Like I said, resale only matters if you plan to get rid of it. And the only reason for the HD resale retention is the Corporate marketing folks the HD pays to design their ads. They know there's a sucker born every minute.

  • @Yamahog12 What makes it a real bike?? Come on man this thing is a complete rip off from a Harley Softail, Look at the rear end, look at the front forks, look at the pushrod V twin engine, that sounds like sh** to add. Like I said, I would rather ride a REAL BIKE, Harley Davidson, the bike everyone wants to build.

  • @wq1299 First- I got nuthin' against HDs except for the price. But I laugh at the people who have bought into the HD marketing and become slaves to the trademark. Here's how to get the best of both: Buy a Yamaha Roadstar. Use some of the $ you save by not buying a HD to put on V&H pipes, open breather and re-jet the carb. Take the rest of the savings and buy some HD stock. Then you have a great bike and you also make money off the people who pay too much $ for HD bikes and clothes, etc.

  • @Yamahog12 Compare a Harley and a metric that are in the same class, not much difference in price. I looked at many bikes before I bought mine. A yamaha in the same class as my Harley was only $1600 less. So price not being a factor, I made my choice on the fact that I liked the look of the Harley and enjoyed the ride, handling and feel, better than the yamahas that I tested. No disrespect to yamaha, it is a great bike. Like anyone should, I picked the bike that was right for me.

  • @harleyfatbob08 your fulla shit , almost the same price...what are you retarted?

  • @shihtalker do some research before you post again and, maybe learn to spell.

  • @harleyfatbob08 Don't mind this guy, he is only a sht talker on the internet, I am sure out in about he is a pus!

  • @wq1299 yup, i think you are right bro

  • @Yamahog12 - LOL! Well written...

  • @wq1299 Stop talking Shit!

  • @wq1299 a real bike? your conserned about the brand name you fuckin whiny yuppie. I bet you only wear real v neck sweaters by Gap, not that old navy shit. dumbfucker

  • @shihtalker Does not matter what I wear or what I am, it does not change the fact that this is a rip off! You got it you internet keyboard tough guy!!

  • @Yamahog12 Hey guy - this "Harleys only" fag you're arguing with doesn't realize that his American Iron horse Harley was made in Mexico from mostly Japanese manufactured parts. He doesn't realize that the Roadie was made right here in the U.S.A. This is to be expected, because he doesn't realize what a superior bike this Roadie is to his softail. Is a Harley softtail a great bike? Sure! But, for $21k = new Fatboy, $12.5k=Brand new Roadie with chrome and lots of extras! Give me a Roadstar please!
