  • This is not BoA's fault, but it's not the Wards fault either. They were taken advantage of by a shameful person. I pray that BoA looks at the facts and works something out with this family. I know that's not the nomal, but it would be beneficial for both parties. The Bank would get paid and the Wards would keep their home. I live in Birmingham, even though I am not an occupy member, I do truly feel compassion for this family. They work hard and are willing to earn what they recieve.

  • that bankster hobama has failed!!!!

  • I stand with the ward's and will fight to help them keep their home. Bank of America is not a good neighbor

  • Bank of America foreclosed on our soldiers while they were serving our country. They have no mercy. Bank of America forged hundreds of thousands of mortgage documents to use in court. They will do just about anything to anyone. Let's stop them join the fight at Keep Bank of America Honest .com Also we are on FaceBook like our page Keep Bank of America Honest

  • This story is a travesty of justice. How dare Bank of America call themselves a good neighbor and refuse to work with this family. Bank of America is NOT a good neighbor and ANYONE that has money or debt with the should move it now! Center Point already has too many vacant homes and it cannot afford another one!

  • Bank of America CAN easily work out a normal, reasonable agreement with the Ward family, whereby they can start making payments on THEIR HOME. Peter Haikes made only ONE payment on this house and that was the DOWN PAYMENT, after that the money went into his pockets. Bank of America is aware of this travesty, Bank of America has all the documents that prove this fraud, Bank of America supposedly "cares for your family", the Wards ARE a family. Let them keep THEIR HOME, let them pay monthly.

  • @Kabulee411 Once again, you ignore the facts that don't suit your narrative. The Wards don't have a mortage with BofA. Apparently, Mr. Haikes did. The Wards are RENTING this house. BofA can't just give them this house. BofA MUST go through the legal process of foreclosure in order to clear the deed. You take on this cause with such a simplistic and frankly dumb rationale, and you refuse to look at any facts that don't suit you. It's ridiculous.

  • @Jamie461 Actually there is a good bit of evidence for this fraud - I have seen cleared checks, copies of money orders, etc. I understand your doubt however this is a pretty clear case of fraud that anyone that looks at the evidence agrees WAS fraud. The Ward family did what everyone in this situation did trus a man that was both a loan officer AND and realtor. All we ask is that Bank of America enter into good faith negotiation with them (the can AND want to pay) this is in BoA's interest

  • @AllynHudson The Wards don't have a mortgage with BofA. The bank is not responsible for this situation in any way. This couple made a series of really dumb decisions, and now they want the bank to pay for something the bank didn't do. The bank can't just "give" these people this house. Nor can the bank overlook normal standards for mortgage qualification to give them a mortgage. Seriously: At what point do the Wards become accountable for their bad decisions???

  • The Ward are not STUPID they made a bad investment, trusted a bad realtor/loan officer, and his companies, someone should be accountable for this FRAUD/THEFT OF FUNDS and the foreclosure should be cancelled. The property rightfully belongs to them.

  • @Kabulee411 You can WISH this property belonged to the Wards, but it doesn't. I've bought several homes in my life, and I'm astonished at how dumb they were (or they are lying now - take your pick). The person they did business with is dead, so he can't dispute any of the facts. What we DO know is that the Wards don't have a mortgage with BofA. The REAL owner of this house does, and that is who BofA is foreclosing on. NOT the Wards. They are renters, not homeowners.

  • @Jamie461. I'm not sure where you get this bizarre perspective. First of all, anyone that puts nearly 30K as a down payment and has solid work history can get a mortgage. Why would they question that? Secondly, the bank knows they've been living and paying there, there are receipts for all payments. Thirdly, we (including the Wards) propped up the banks with billions of dollars to prevent them from destroying our economy. THIS is what all that money was for. Helping our economy.

  • @zarahoopstra The only "bizarre perspective" is coming from the people who put this video together. It's this couple's word against a dead guy. They have NO MORTGAGE with BofA. NONE. And NO ONE can get a mortgage without an income, regardless of down payment. It doesn't matter if they were paying the REAL owner of the house the rent payments, BofA hasn't been paid. BofA isn't foreclosing on the Wards, they are foreclosing on the REAL owner of this house. The Wards don't own this house!

  • These people unfortunately made a serious of truly STUPID decisions. Unbelievably stupid. But how does this have ANYTHING to do with Bank of America? BofA didn't defraud them -- Peter Haikes did. Why in the hell did they fall for such a con man? Why didn't they have an attorney representing them in this transaction from the start? This is sad, but they have NO CLAIM to this property -- they don't own it, never did own it, and they don't have a mortgage with BofA!! BE HONEST, OCCUPY B'HAM.

  • @Jamie461 This is the problem with our system and why this is a great example of wrongful foreclosure. Your mindset is everything is cut and dry regardless who get hurt a long the way. You & BoA are more concerned with profit and the value in this small house than the family living in it. I strive for a better society where a company is agile enough to see an abnormal situation and ETHICALLY respond. I do not wish to be in a consumer-beware-state where bank profits surmount humanity.

  • @wearethe99occupiers: The bank isn't the "villain" in this situation. What part of that do you not get? And it's not about "profit" to me, or about BofA. It's about putting the blame for this where it belongs. These people made a serious of truly STUPID decisions. On what planet did they believe that any bank was going to give them a mortgage when they didn't have jobs when they moved here? You are enabling a ridiculous situation. I'm sorry for them, but they have to OWN their bad decisions!

  • @Jamie461 YOU BE HONEST--SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH B O A AND ANYONE ELSE WHO THINKS THIS IS THE RIGHT WAY TO TREAT HARD WORKING CONSUMERS LIKE THE WARDS. We consumers are trustworthy and want to deal with trustworthy BANKS/REALTORS.LOAN OFFICERS. Someone HAS TO BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS KIND OF THIEVERY AND FRAUD. Who do you suggest that be ???

  • @Kabulee411 The Wards are accountable for their poor decisions. And we don't know the WHOLE story here, do we? Because the other party in this is dead. So we don't even know that there WAS any "thievery" or "fraud," do we? Whether or not they are "hard working" isn't germane. WHO SIGNED THE MORTGAGE PAPERS? It definitely wasn't the Wards. They are LEASING this home. BofA is foreclosing on the REAL owner(s), and the Wards aren't them!

  • @Kabulee411 Look, I have watched friends lose their jobs and their homes. REAL hardship! It was hard, but they accepted that they borrowed money and couldn't make the payments anymore. Therefore, according to the legal documents they WILLINGLY signed, the bank foreclosed. There are lots of people in that boat. They have to pick up and start over and BE ACCOUNTABLE. None of the people I know asked for sympathy. You ask who should be accountable? The Wards need to look in the mirror.
