actually dmc1 was totally cool,the cartoonish ''style'' was used in the 3th chapter,and that's where most of the dmc fanboys came out thinkin' dante was,is and will ever be,some kind of cookie badass punk.I PERSONALLY play dmc because i like the concept,both story and gameplay and i again PERSONALLY find the new chapter intresting in the new developed story (even tho dante and vergil were both born with white hair) yet i find the gameplay lacks the smoothness of dmc3 and 4.

DMC has always been a game people play more for the fun and humor than story , I think they are trying to make the game less "cartoonish", so people can take the changes more seriously.

I suport it 100%, I think Dante had become WAAAAAAY too anime-like in the last games, making the character look a little too generic... Can't wait for the release... and the soundtrack is AMAZING. The OST in DMC4 had really let me down, so this is a nice change.

this soundtrack is good... has a nice feel to it... though I don't about the game DMC... the feel of the game is totally different from other previous games... well that's my thought as of now... it could change once I actually played the game

Dante's new look makes me feel more open to the series. Before, I used to think it was too... Unapproachable, with a character that seemed overly humerous in these situations. This prelog of Dante looks more badass than anything, yet people complain about it. I don't understand why people can't see that its a prolouge, not like it'll go on forever, up to the rest of the games, making the rest of the classic Dante's to look rebellious. Just hope people quit complaining and see reason for once. :/

@Auestyn The problem for me is that Dantes design was changed for the wrong reasons. Chief Designer at Ninja Theory, Tameem Antoniades, changed the face of one of the coolest (if not the coolest) characters in gaming to resemble himself. That's like me designing the next God of War and deciding Kratos is baddass so I'll make him look like me... brown skinned with hair. The guy HAS to be seriously full of himself.

@reedOsama I can understand that idealism, though, not every redesign is apart of themselves. Some characters are made to be more realistic appearing then others, so they decided to take this route. The voice actor had a different vocalization then the others at the studio, so they kinda had to go with the Chief Designer's facial structure. Its simply to add onto the forgoed experience.

Of all the things that could have been to be changed in DMC to freshen it up Dante's look and attitude were not one of them. Making Dante different is clever though... this game will probably still be really good and go on to sell well. When they return to Dante's original design in the sixth game fans are just going to go mad and for both games Capcom get what they want... attention on the game.

I dont mind them changing Dante's look. My issue with this game as of right now is the gmaeplay looks off.. Crusty, is the word i would use to explain it.. I hope it ends up feeling like the rest of the franchise.. regardless, im gonna buy it anyways.

I think that this game would have gotten more positive enthusiasm if they hadn't screwed dante's look majorly, i would have been fine with it if they had kept the full white hair, the blue eyes, and if he didn't smoke. The original creater even said he made sure dante wouldn't smoke becuase he thought people who didn't smoke were cooler than the ones who do.
