Jack's playing helped me get into Miles Davis. I really liked the rock feel of Miles Live at the Filmore. Jack seemed to get a rock feel to his playing without ever seeming to repeat himself, unlike most rock drummers. I liked it so much that I bought Charles Lloyd live in the Soviet Union, on reading that Jack DeJonette and Keith Jarrett were in the line up. Another excellent album.

If Jack DeJohnette's name was easier to read and pronounce, I believe he just might be considered the greatest... at least by a wider audience.

@scottmagnerod I agree that the man can't be touched-brilliant drummer. He should have shortened his name to Jack Dejohn.
