  • these things are terrifying, i know they cant sting you but my first time seeing one i thought it would be like a hypodermic needle lol

  • I WANT ONE! lol

  • about 10 years ago i saw one of these in a picture and nobody believed me when i said they were real.

  • i witnessed this on mushrooms and my buddy was petting its wings while this was happening hahaha

  • Is it particularly big? How can we tell?

  • do they sting people?

  • I will love to see this bug!..But I Need to travel to do it :/

  • KILL IT WITH FIRE!

  • @TheX30

    well put

  • Those are freaky looking but cool. I freaked out so much the first time I saw one because I thought that ovipostor was its stinger!

  • what is that noise? is it camera malfunctions or is that thing making those noises, cause they r pretty loud

  • Its the auto focus continually re-adjusting as the insect and camera move around.

Best to find that setting on your camera and disable it. Even if its silent it ruins a lot of videos by losing focus, especially at night...

  • this wasp looks harmful, but they are harmless........ one landed on my arm and did nothing

  • That doesn't mean they're harmless, it just means that one didn't want to do anything.

  • @dymonic1

Just that it lands on your arm and doesnt do anything makes prove of it being harmless, but ok ..

  • Could have been a male, those are harmless. (no stinger)

  • brrr, is it possible for them to land over large creature such like human?

  • one of those landed right on the back of my dam neck...they can parlize you up to 6-10 hours.....

  • I saw it an year ago when i was home i looked out of my window and i thought what the hell was that? then i was gonna go to bed and it was in my bedroom and i freaked out lol

  • Makes me feel nausea and wondrous at he same time.

  • I saw one of these things 10 years ago and I've been wondering what the hell it was ever since. I almost shit my pants.

  • its a wood wasp...must be putting its eggs in the tree...

  • wow thats is cool

  • Nice thanks for the vid, great shot.

  • that long curvy thing was its stinger? dam creepy mother

  • it was an ovipositor, for laying eggs, not the stinger, think more like the queen from aliens

  • does it retract the ovipositer or its always exposed? and how bad is its sting?

  • i think most just discard it, some may retract them. i doubt the sting is any worse than any other wasp

  • it looks like a big ass wasp

  • crap! my dad found one of these things but its black and yellow and it keeps trying to pull its stinger thing off and when he found it he said one of the stingers was stuck in the tree... do you think its prego?

  • I seen three of those fucking things today, Scared the shit out of me

  • Cool Francie! I was one of the first ppl to see this video too. Your power of observation was at optimum level that day.

  • what was that bubble right before she extracted the ovipositor?

  • Jeez, That looks so awesome yet so creepy

  • the real name for it is the stump stabber, but it does only lay eggs with the ovipositor.

I had one land in my house before. that was pretty cool.

  • dude that would be cool to see

  • You won't get stung by them the sting is only used to lay eggs

  • like a scary ass mosquito

  • Fascinating :D

  • i want one!

  • god that would suck if u got stung by that

  • what is that????

  • a ichneumon wasp laying her eggs in tree bark.

  • DO THEY STING?

  • yeah

  • dats sum freaky shit try 2 find a nest of em

  • an orange coloured species can sting real bad.

but that looks scary enough to keep your distance lol.

  • I live in southern IL and I've seen plenty of short-tailed and red-tailed ichneumonids, but I've always wanted to see one of these up close.

  • I think they kill other wasps, anyway, ive seen one before, kinda weird proportions compared to other wasps, looks a little like a mosquito or a mayfly

  • no they just lay eggs in bugs they cant sting humans

  • what a lady!

  • do

    they

    fucc

    upshit

  • i think i acctually saw 1 when i was playing golf today it was Huge

  • is it making that sound or is that the camera?

  • The darn camera.

  • My camera makes this sound too, no clue what does it, it's some glitch. My friend swears that I'm furiously chewing some gum open-mouthed but these are slanderous lies!

  • nice shot of a freaky phenomenon.
