  • No ones commented? NICE BOARD!

  • i'm a noob at these stuff , can anyone tell me how much improvement will i get? currently running bf3 on high with about 40-50 fps .. how many more fps can i get?

  • Thanks for the video, I tried using 8x400 but it didnt work, went down to 8x375 and that works fine. 2.4->3ghz, cant complain.

  • hey i have a core 2 Quad q9550 with intel motherboard i want to OC but i dont have Ai Tweaker :<

  • benchod

  • it seems like my CPU is locked, it keeps going into loop after I have OC it,lol wanted to try something since I'm getting a new update soon

  • can i run the dram voltage on "auto" ? have the same bios menu and cpu but im not sure what the"dram voltage means"

  • but that sucks you have to show if the system goo to WINDOWS and is STABLE

  • whats the motherboard you used in this video?

  • can you overclock to 3.2 Ghz without changing the cooler of of you cpu ?

u have the standard cooler from intel

  • i have asus p5n-d and with stock cooling i have already 3ghz i think stable

    my v are so bad

    nb 1.4

    v core 133

    ht 1.38

    sb auto

    ram 1.8

  • can someone help me in overclocking my Q6600 with asus p5kpl-am se? PLEASE!

  • @jaspergabriel16 go to bios and find the jumper free thing and boom your there its more simple.

  • when i did this, mine turned up to 3,6?

  • @STCodes u didnt change the multiplier it should have been 8 not 9 becuz 9 x 400 = 3600 = 3.6ghz

  • @theanimalbars i changed it to 8...

  • @STCodes so did that work

  • @theanimalbars no i did that from the start, it apparently dosent apply or somthing

  • I love you, straight to the point and very clear

  • My question is: If I overclock my CPU, do I have to increase the NB voltage (northbridge voltage) too???

PS: I have the same motherboard!

  • you are lucky as hell man.. my stock runs like 1.26 -_- and your overclock runs 1.3!

  • It didn't work.

I did as you did, and the DRAM Voltage i set to 1.85, because when i googled on my ram the specifications was Power supply : Vdd: 1.8V ± 0.1V, Vddq: 1.8V ± 0.1V. I just got overclock failed. I have Asus P5Q Pro.

  • lol noisy pc

  • i have q6600 at 3.2 and 1.2 volts. cpuz says that 1.18 volts :)

  • Fake ...what with Strap to NB...nothing a?

  • 3.2 Ghz is still low (although is enought for gaming) try 3.6 GHz.... mine is oc'ed from 2.4 to 3.6 and temps are always 35º idle / 58º load... (Cooler Master Hyper 212+).

  • @yosmer333 3.2 is low for nothing noob its a quad core that means 6.4 if it was look at upon as a dual core id like to see any dual core do that yet i never see any that high

  • @dylbyl1234 6.4 Ghz? dude, you are just mixing the speed of the cores (3.2 + 3.2) that's not the correct way of calculating the speed of a CPU...

  • @dylbyl1234 So my 4 ghz i7 930 has 32 GHZ according to your calculation hence 4 physical+4 virtual cores times the Speed of the CPU. Do a research before you post bulshit

  • my load tmeps are 72 max. ant thats on 100%load. it runs fine and its safe temps to q6600.

  • How You get ~ 20*C on cpu at bootup I have scythe ninja rev 2 and it's ~ 45-50*C at start with 9 x 350 fsb with open case and full fan speed... Rev. G0.

  • AI TWEAKER!?! (0:38) My BIOS screen has everything the same, except I don't have that tab. Mine goes from Main, and the next tab over is advanced. Anyone know how I can get that tab on? Or does that mean that my computer is incapable of overclocking?

  • Man, I can't freaking believe how low his temps are.

  • at 1.4 core voltage with the same board and processor you can do 3.48ghz stable.

  • But 400 fsb is 3.6 right? oh and you have a very loud pc dude to loud .

    I have a antec 300 with 4 noctua 120mm fans and a top fan antec 3 speed plus a zalman cnps9700 len plus 3TB 3hdd and a THERMALTAKE 600w and i have it at 3.0ghz an in max load i have 21 °C si 71.5°F

and my pc is in 5 feet of my an i sleep like a baby do you sleep with your pc open?

  • @midgetcv it's 400MHz with the multiplier set at 8.

  • not a good overclocking method at all since you didnt give any warnings on increments... even though the cpu volt is lowered...

one who knows already knows... those who doesn't may get lucky on success... but for those whose computer won't start after doing this overclocking steps will be blanked w/out any further clue to troubleshoot.

  • @yajstylez Hit the reset switch on the motherboard, or remove the battery for about 15 min.

  • And also, nice video.

  • Hey guys I need help. I would really like to overclock my Q6600 to 3.0, but then use the EPU software, because my fan makes a REALLY LOUD ANNOYING NOISE and when I use the software, I can barely hear the computer. So does anyone have a solution? Do I have to buy a CPU Fan or something in order to make this work? Please Help.

  • can i over clock from 2.4 to 3.0 without damage with a stock cooler:D ???

  • depends on your temperatures inside your case and outside, i have gone to 3.0Ghz on stock cpu cooler but i have great wire managment and airflow through my case, 3 120mm fans intake 2 fans exhaust

  • @EXSSurge Cool. Only it's better to have more outtake than intake to create a lower pressure inside.

  • No.

  • @RaVeN19Dizzle I'm doing it right now. I don't recommend it, though. I'm actually running prime right now. Going over 2.5hrs. She hits 64C. That's pretty damn warm. That's why I don't recommend it. I'm just not patient enough to wait to get a new cooler.

  • Start by 2.1V and decrement by minimum step allowed by BIOS untill you notice stability issues.

You can use a bootable memtest86+ CD/DVD or a bootable USB flash drive to run memtest86+ to test for stability. Personally I run two times tests #5 and #8 without any errors to ensure stability.

The lower the applied voltage, the lower the power consumption and generated heat.

  • Thats the best movie in Youtube pls make another one with 3,4 Ghz

  • Great video, I was wondering if I did what you did, but I wanted only 3Ghz, what would I do different and would I have to change the voltage? or could I keep it on auto?

    Thanks :)

  • for 3ghz, try the following settings, they seem to work for me:

    speedstep off

    c1e off

    loadline calibration off

    fsb set to 333

    cpu ratio to 9

    cpu vcore 1.35000

  • how is that possible? I got ASUS P5QC and i need 1.35 voltage in bios for 3 ghz ( 333x9) what should i do for 400x8?

  • what sort of CPU cooler d'you have?

i'm noob at overclocking but i think i've got the jist of it,

i also have the same mobo! which helps.

  • Coolermaster V8

  • @dman8138 can i do this to my q6600 if i dont have a cooler just the standard heat sink and in a antec 902 case with fans on high?

  • @dman8138

i testet your settings well up to 3,2ghz its stable under 39° grad cpu. after i testet with 3.4ghz it quitts. but now its not runnig with somthing more than 2.4ghz. only blackscreen and a reeboot than nothing? can u help me?

    faq from my pc

    q6600, asus p5q , 8gb ddr2 1066 (hyperx kingston 2gb modules), coolermaster v10, 2x 500 gb Fspl., 750w nt power supply

    into bios

    fsb 400,multi 8,pcie 100, dram freq 1066, dram manual 5-5-5-15, cpu@1,37v, dram volt 2.2v, c1e off and eist off,n else

  • @pnb1980

    upps i forgot

its running under windows ultimate ed 64bit

  • @dman8138 do u need a cooler?

  • Btw, It would be great to see how your system behave running Prime95! =)

I have the same CPU and the P5Q-E with a noctua cooler and i get around 55º Load, at 3.2 Ghz

  • Nice tut for begginers.

You can try to put mult: x9, and FSP: 355.

You should get better temperatures I think, at least I get.

And try to put 1.5V in PPL Volt.

  • Those temps are irrelevant; for anyone doing this, be sure to run Prime95 (P95) and or Intel Burn Test (IBT) afterwards for a good 20 minutes and see that your temps don't exceed 60 degrees - if they do, you might live somewhere warmer than dman, which'll mean you'll need a bigger heatsink/fan.

Not that I'm an overclocking guru; beginner myself, trying out the numbers from this video as I've got the same CPU/Mobo/Ram combo :).

  • Holy shit.... 19.5 C???

    That thing's cold...

  • Ehehe.. 20º now, not after running the OS.

  • You also have the same ram

  • I have the same motherboard!

  • I'm new to overclocking but this is a great tutorial. Your setup is very similar to mine I've got the P5QL pro Mobo and the Q6600 CPU although the bios is a little different from yours. I don't have the CPU ratio setting or the DRAM voltage setting. though I have changed the other settings to match yours but halfway through startup the computer shuts down. Have you any ideas please?

  • Try reducing the FSB frequency to 355.

  • Thanks mate

  • I love overclocking vids keep it up 5/5
