Because it extends the bikes footprint on the hill,(lowering the angle against the hill) makes it less likely to flip over backwards, a normal bike would present a higher angle of attack at full throttle and tend to flip over more easily.

the reason for the extended swingarm is so that you dont flip the bike backwards..basically you can pin and not worry about ending up on ur ass

guss me got a 250cc cagiva 2 stroke and a yamaha 450 four stroke and i kill hills with my 2 stroke plus my yamaha is from 2005 and my cagiva is from 1989 That some crazy shit :P

OK, so all you morons out there get a clue! The bike is built strickly for hillclimbing. It's been slightly modified to take the abuse of holding it wide open in 2nd gear.

Bike has never blown up, he's got 2 NE Championships and working on the 3rd with this bike. Also has 1 National Championship with it! So before you all post stupid and rude comments on here. Right on that was an awesome climb! I race a cr250 2-stroke in the U.S. Desert Racing Series against mostly 450cc+ four strokes. U can argue about bikes all day but it's the rider that makes the difference.

2-strokes dont lack any power atall actually they have more bhp per lb than a four stroke its just 2- strokes power is all at the top end of the revs whereas 4-strokes have more torque then 2-strokes giving them more grunt at the bottom end so i think you personally need to get your own facts right before insulting sum1 else with incorrect information
