- Supported budget cuts to Canadian Health services during her tenure in Parliament.
- Opposes Michele Bachmann and the Tea Party movement, but supports the Conservative Party of Stephen Harper, the Canadian equivalent of the modern GOP.

We should be careful in dismissing Michele Bachmann as a "joke". I'm sure that there are many historical instances when citizens dismissed as a joke an ambitious demagogue who used the politics of resentment and fear to gain power. We should be careful in dismissing Michele Bachmann as a "joke". I'm sure that there are many historical instances when citizens dismissed as a joke an ambitious demagogue who used the politics of resentment and fear to gain power. I can, for example, well imagine the German middle class in 1932 dismissing Hitler as a joke and a clown, right before he was appointed chancellor.
