  • @VBeatstep It's a push press, you don't use a spotter for those it's a power lift the lifter is trained to drop the weight and get out of the way (hopefully)

    His feet are not facing forward, not aligned with each other, and he fucking jumps to get the bar lifted. in a military over press he should not be using anything other than his upper body strength to press.

    not to mention everytime he jumps he resets his footing in a poor angle.

  • @Andres9632 Feet dont have to be "aligned". And he bends at the knees to get it up, it's called a push press, they do it in almost every olympic lift. If you're just starting I recommend not being a form nazi, you won't get anywhere. Look at Ronnie Coleman do any exercise, his form is far from strict. Do as much weight as your body allows with relatively good form.

  • @BMunich16 IF your form is shit you wont isolate and work out the porper muscles he still bounces around on his legs . if he had to use only his upper body i dont think he'd be able lift that more than once if that.

    regardless on your opinion on whether or not form matters theres no denying his form is horrid. Using the momentum and jumping is not the same as bending your knees.

  • @93Dwightfreeney I just assumed the point of doing a certain exercise was to strengthen the muscles that the exercise was intended to use. therefore building strength ... last time i checked the person who could perform the above exercise with proper form (fewer muscle groups being used) was stronger than the person who had to put their whole body force + momentum into.

    That being said youre right maybe he just lifts to feel better about himself and true strength isnt a factor here.

    and for athletes wats the point of having strong shoulders if ur lowerbody and abs cant support it this makes them work together

    and as far as having strong shoulders with no abs? people do multiple exercises for exactly this reason..

    and when theyre done with isolation training they do compound exercises like this one but with proper form since all the muscles are strong enough to maintain a decent form

    Its not just about strength. Most strong people who dont take roids at all are usually very smooth, His muscle size for the size of his frame and low bodyfat just seems suspicious , long with the fact he can still lift heavy . He is a military guy after all, and they have to run alot so its just suspicious.
