Why were they banned??

@ProDancer6 because they're from Russia and the Russians and Italians, at least the top ranking ones, couldn't go because the Russian and Italian Gov thought they didn't place fairly where they should. That's what they told us at Blackpool. They didn't go to that either. So Neil Jones and his partner and Valentin and Dariya made it into the finals at the UK open and Blackpool.

somebody told me that they were not really banned..they made a boycott....dance politics, i guess... there were also italian couples who made their boycott...
