only if you need them for the piece. in this case he didn't, cuz the mario theme doesn't use notes that low. shit though, that is a huge-ass neck. so basically it's a 5-string bass and standart guitar (or 7-string guitar and 4-string bass, take your pick) in one huge package? wow. i'd hate to have to stretch all the way across a fret to hit the 10th or 11th strings. i'd say fuck standard fretting and tap everything. might as well hold it in your lap and tap it like you would piano keys.

Not a chapman stick. A standard chapman stick has 10 string and the grand stick model has 12 strings. I play the chapman stick.
