what i did to make runescape run a bout 4x faster was i right clicked it scrolled down to properties then clicked shortcuts, after that i scrolled down to run- clicked down on the arrow next to normal window , and clicked maximized after that i hit apply. good luck hope it works for you too!

I have played runescape on both Mac and PC and I have to say that runescape will run better on Mac than PC unless you completely screw up your Mac. Even though they are expensive, they do have high quality graphics cards and at least 4gb of ram with i7 processors.
If the downloaded client isn't writtin in/requiring Java, Java won't interfere. Also you are for sure gonna need Java for other stuff at some point...

Setting the priority of a program won't fix lag, and will likely make it worse, ESPECIALLY if you're using firefox since firefox is a RAM whore. If you set the priority to the max, your browser is going to start taking up all your computers resources which will inevitably lead to your computer becoming an unresponsive paperweight until it's restarted.

Let me tell you the REAL way to make Runescape faster!
1 - Uninstall any unused or unnecessary software.
2 - Update your graphics and/or video card (Recommended: NVidea, ATI).
3 - Do disk cleanup.
4 - Defragment your computer.
5 - Run virus checks (Recommended: AVG, MalwareBytes, SuperAntispyware)
6 - Update Java or uninstall Java and download Runescape Server from the Runescape Downloads Page (Does not use Java, runs faster!)

It runs faster at the beginning but it gets slower fast. If Runescape runs slow its because your graphics card is slow and by doing what this video is telling it tricks your computer into thinking it can run this when it cant, therefore can cause crashing of your computer.

Setting the priority of a program won't fix lag, and will likely make it worse, ESPECIALLY if you're using firefox since firefox is a RAM whore. If you set the priority to the max, your browser is going to start taking up all your computers resources which will inevitably lead to your computer becoming an unresponsive paperweight until it's restarted.

somthing you installed. thats ok, right click the task bar (verry bottom of the screen where the start menu is) and right click it. select task manager (if you are on a mac this wont work its for pcs vista windows 7 windoes xp windows 98 windows 95
