There's plenty of videos on youtube on them. My favorite is "justinsandercoe"s one.

But in short, just pluck any string (g string works best) and as you follow through with the stroke, brush the string with the edge of your thumb.

It takes a lot of patience and practice to get it to ring loud and clearly.

Just practice it every day and you'll get it.

@kingappia move your point of contach arround. It all depends where your thumb hits the string. It is all mathematical and complecated, so I won't explain anymore, but you can get multiple harmonics on the same fret by moving your hand up or down the string.

@Mr0ro We don't take care of our hands at all. The more beat up our hands get, the better we get. More calluses = Less pain = Better Playing. Arthritis? No problem - Take some painkillers and keep going. Lost a finger? Join a Nu Metal band, like Munky from Korn did.

Plus, we also get all the girls. Our band's vocalist/frontman acts as a filter, weeding out all the idiots and ugly ones, leaving us with the best :P

The way we get calluses is by playing for hours every day. we do take care of our hands cause once we get tendonitis or we brake our fingers in a fight we r done. You don't have to go that far. I'm also a classical guitar player and I have to take care of my nails every day in order to keep my tone and I am Cuban 6.3 weight 220 and can beat the shit out of most and I don't unless I have to Cause I care about my hands

@Mr0ro As are you. Our "Hand Care" involves beating the hell out of them. I pretty much have nothing in the way of fingernails (nailbiter here) and I have no trouble playing well. My calluses come from the 14-15 ga. strings I stick with. Tendinitis is treatable through rest for a week or so, and broken fingers can heal within a couple months. If you can't learn to change your technique to cope with the lower speed (and strange healing angles), then I'd say you're not dedicated enough.
