@NewWorldOrphan2012 your program must not have installed properly then, suite 8 is meant to have over 30 instruments

@newworldorphan2012 if you have Live 8 Suite but do not have all instruments, you might have missed something in the installation or perhaps it didn't not install correctly. I'd either reinstall or contact Ableton customer service. They are on the ball about returning emails. Always return that day or the next. Good luck and I hope you figure out the problem!

hey guys i got a question, im doing some dubstep beats with a friend and he had downloaded some synth vst´s (on mac), so i took my pendrive , copypasted 3 of´em (massive, absynth 4, fm8), then when im going to open them through the browser it shows me all the folders empty, but through finder i can see them there so, i just cant open them. any help ?

Help! im trying to figure out how to use razor on ableton. I pressed activate on the plug in tab and now i cant get that menu back where you can activate your different plug ins! A response would be greatly appreciated!

@AggBlasters go to options -> preferences (voreinstellungen in germany) -> go to File Folder.. there it is :)

i found the right folder and everything to put the VST in, i just realized i have an intel processor iMac. my question is where can i find some VSTs that r suited for intel.

I know this is an old video. But any clue as to why I don't have "Use Audio Units". I'm in the "File/Folder" tab, but that option is not there. Same with the "Use VST-Plugins System Folders", also not there... Running v8.0.1

@MrErocdar Hey. Wow, this was 10 months ago. Can't remember why I needed it in the first place. But if you tell me what you're trying to get working I might be able to help. What vst are you trying to install?

@Whaffel I was trying to get some Native Instruments stuff to work.. in the video there were options to enable that were not in my Ableton... but i just dragged all my DLL files into one place and assigned that folder to the root vst folder.... including NI vsts. With FL studio it located all that shit on its own, no matter where it was unless it was JUST a DLL file, then I had to drag it into the specified spot. It's all good, now. Thanks for responding.

@MrErocdar Ahh yes. Different programs don't always use the same vst system folder. Glad you made it work :)

thanks a whole lot... i look now like an el stupido... i tried to record via melodyne and tried so hard to get samples and all into it... and tried tp activate this "now it looks so easy to activate"-plug in-folder vst. so thanks a lot. two hours of frustration gone :)

What would the default windows VST folder be?

I'm having a lot of trouble activating those on windows.

Im trying to star addictive drums in ableton live 8 just like you said: 1. I go to the plug in browser 2. I click on activate and I choose the xln folder from my hard drive. But it doesnt find anything. what am I doing wrong? Maybe you can help me?

Most VST's need to be installed in your system's (win/mac) default VST folder. Install it there, next activate the default folder instead of a custom folder. That should work.

If that doesn't help, perhaps the guys at xlnaudio know the answer? I haven't personally used that VST.

@TornadoTwins for me it doesn't show a default folder or the other top two options use audio units or vst plugin system folders. and when i create a custom folder called "VST" and place a TAL-baseline nothing shows up even after i rescan. please help
