  • wheres the torque wrench?

  • @UberPloxage I was busy using it to torque the idle screw on the carb. Sorry.

  • I loved the banjo montage... good stuff.

  • @sargentwylie Thank you!

  • i like how you torqued the flywheel in a circle...

  • why do you use a normal clutch disc and not a sport cluch with 4 copper blade ? please let me know!

  • @mrmixjay Beats me. Never heard of a "sport clutch with a 4 copper blade".. Wassat?

  • you never see a sport cluch with 4 copper teeth / puck / blade ??

  • ummm wheres your torque wrench

  • @monstermiataman Hanging on the wall in the shop at the moment..

  • @rpeek i ask because i didnt see you torque the bolts down

  • @monstermiataman Dang! Dang I said and Dang again...

  • why dont you use copaslip for the bolts?

  • cool thanks man that was really help full

  • very nice video.) good job

  • nice video!!!

  • Excuse me why does that clutch look SO small?

  • 'cause it is..

  • @rpeek OH thanks and I don't want you to think I was being I wise guy I juat hhahaha good job

  • I wasn't trying to build a dragster. Just a workable hot rod. If I ever need more clutch, I can do that too, but for my money, I just want to get this baby on the road..

  • @rpeek I bought a clutch a couple days ago and was watching your video so I would know how to install it :)

  • Cool... The flywheel I've got is drilled for a couple of different sizes, but just to get this thing on the road I opted for a pretty cheap clutch set. Figured if I needed a bigger one later on I could swap it out. So far it seems just fine. If I start doing burn outs and stuff I might tear this one up, but if I do I know how to put in another one.. hahah Good luck with yours..

  • @rpeek Just curious how many inch is that clutch?? the one I am putting in is 12 inch, and I'm doing it whith the engine in the truck

    Thanks

  • I've done that before too.. I'm not sure how big the clutch was. I just ordered one for a 70's Chevy Nova. This is what I got..

  • good job!!!!

  • thats the marker because flywheel goes on same way it came off

  • The flywheel didn't come off though. It's pretty hard to get a flywheel for a straight shift on a '53 Caddy. I had this one special made. It's okay to grind off the nub. People do it all the time when swapping out an Olds flywheel, if you can find on of those.. hahaha

  • nice video...but a small clutch on a big flywheel? wouldnt you put extra strain on the clucth?

  • Every chance I get! Yessir I do... hahahaha

  • oooooo! what a no no he didnt cross tighten, for even contact

  • I'm sure I'll burn in Hell for that... hahahaha

  • why such a big flywheel and such a small clutch ... uve got alot of surface area id take advantage of is all im sayin

  • It's sad how I realized how few people I know that would know if it "would" in fact work.... :(

  • Yep, well it'll work. Trust me.. hahahahaha I know this kind of stuff like I know the sure road to salvation.. hahahaha

  • looking great!!!!

  • you should tighten you nuts or bolts in a star pattern. ie the top bold then the bottom then the two to the sides and so on. if you tighten them in the circle pattern you could warp something.
