@TheOwlDaddy, because you have to grind much more of the healthy tooth away with the risk of nerve damage. As a Dentist I can tell you if it was my own tooth I would not even consider a veneer if I can get away with a nice composite filling.
@ruuuz Sorry, I can't use the word "nice" for this toxic material causing different kinds of cancer in the mouth and throat area. I would never get this material, be sure, no matter what my dentist would tell me.
@TITAN3084 Composite contains Formaldehyde, Bisphenole A, Phenobenzole and 77 more toxic substances...... :( What happens when the material polymerized, isn't quite examined up to now, but you can be sure that no "healthy" substances will come up....... :( Authorities should ban them worldwirde!
@TheOwlDaddy I am positive that you have several missing teeth and unhappy that you didn't take care of them properly. Instead of coming on youtube and saying stupid things, you should write to your health minister voicing your concerns in regards to composite. Otherwise, shut the fuck up!!!
@phv628 1.) No, I don't have any.... 2.) Stupid things? Can't you stand the truth? Are you an employee of 3M ESPE or their propaganda department? 3.) I don't waste my time or money for a stamp for this poor and rotten material...... 4.) I never did and I never will until it's banned worldwide !!!
that doesn´t sound very helathy... but the amount of something makes it toxic.
there is also toxic/carcinogen in usual stuff like potato chips (acrelamid), alcohol, the air we breathe (exhaust and fine dust...), the usual radioactive background radiation, even the sunlight...
the question is, how much toxic is released in such a crown, compared to the toxic we get every day by living.
I just came from my dentist, still numb actually....I sure do wish i could say MINE turned out this well.....oh well, as long as I can eat I guess.........
nice technique useful pointers excellent rubber dam isolation useful seeing how a layered technique using dentine/enamel materials looks thanks for sharing your skills
Very interesting procedure. I have worn emanel on my lower front teeth caused by the caps I have on my upper teeth. Had them for 35 years. My dentist's only solution is caps on my 6 lower teeth. I say too expensive. Could this procedure be done on my lower teeth and if so, what is the cost? Thank you
I watched spellbound at this revealing video. I was amazed at the procedure and its end result. I never realised a dentist has to be an artist too! Superd result!
how strong are these, can u eat like u would normally, bite an apple , have fizzy drinks, sweets etc . maintain normal eating habits. also is the cleaning the same , and how long do they last?
Hi, this is a very aesthetic light cured composite called Artemis and strength in my opinion is not the best quality of the product. But you have a misunderstood concept of eating. You eat with molar teeth, not with anterior one. So this restoration remains as long as you have a normal occlusion(bite).
my only question is, why would you do all these small increments of the enamel material, when you could just do one large increment and shape the anatomy in one go?
the thinking behind this is so that you can incorporate different hues (colors) and make the tooth more natural with differing translucencies (for example more translucent incisally). Also if u placed one large portion there is approx 3% shrinkage on curing.. resulting in stress fractures (or microfractures) of the remaining tooth tissue ... or worse debonding at the margins of the restoration so that there will be microleakage.
Exellent job!Thanx for sharing. I have just graduated and need some info like this. Is it Ok if mixmatching materials from different manufactures - Herculite XRV Ultra and with Artemis?
Perfect job. Not all dentists are meticulous like this dentist. Some would not even use a dual shaded repair. Very informative video. A+

Why should be composite toxic? It is used since the 50´s, so it´s testet well.
Maybe some chips have more cancer causing acrylamide than this.

yes you can eat normally. It depends on how well the restoration is placed. Could last 10+ years

I am guessing that it must be harder to light cure. Good question, if you find out let me know.
