@ruffzspree Well in terms of IQ you may be right, but Bill Clinton has demonstrated that he lacks some good judgement: his bombing of the Sudan "chemical weapon" factory, his failure to act with the Sudan government to capture Osama Bin Laden, and his economic policies of deregulation that were the main cause of the housing bubble. Plus Jon Huntsman is much more experienced than Clinton was when he ran.
@CoolStoryBrosauce Obviously everyone knows more about Ron Paul this time around. Leaving people without insurance to die pretty much makes you a heartless bastard.
@Superfresh602 Can't speak for Maher, but I liked Ron Paul too, and over the past months, I've thought about what his policies would mean. Getting rid of the regulatory agencies sounds like one of the stupidest things you can do. I imagine getting rid of the FDA and Paul's 3rd-grader argument that somehow corps will serve you healthy food because it's in their interest. Well, that was the philosophy back in the late 1800s and the disgusting meat packing plants didn't live up to that idea.
@eggiex1 did he actually say the fda or did he say all regulatory agencies? because im pretty sure oil companies would spill their toxic waste into rivers if no one cared and the epa didn't get on their ass
@Superfresh602 Well, the FDA is a regulatory agency, isn't it? It's true that regulatory agencies often sleep on the switch, but the problem is, would you rather have someone occasionally sleep on the switch, or would you rather have no one at the switch at all in the first place? Although option 2 would at least let you know where you're standing, I don't think it's the direction we want to go. If you broke your leg and can't walk, the solution is definitely not to cut off the leg...
@eggiex1 if someone sleep on the switch at least we know that they are working at least half the time better than nothing because that motivates companies not fuck up because there could be a possibility that they would do something
As a former Republican who defected to "the other side", I find these funny as hell.
When a media figure opposes the elite rich and the GOP, they know they are going to get the slings and the arrows. Any one who stands pat for the middle class and the working people deserve a lot of credit, and get my respect.
@lowell90 Since you guys bring up his ideology and policies and have a bone to pick with them, what exactly is it that you do not like about his policies, and, how is your incumbent going to better it? Just wondering. I figured I lend one voice to Ron Paul's cause if noone else will. Oh and please, let's be constructive. There's really no need to call me a peace-loving, pot smoking idiot. This is a general discussion.
@lowell90 He's for states rights, so I don't see what's wrong with that. Not to mention, the war is actually a big deal that is wasting us a lot of money. He even said that he would try to lay the groundwork to make health care more affordable, so that the government would not have to be so involved. He has admitted, on a Larry King interview, that this country has become a corporate society, and that it needs to be dealt with. So what other policies of his are you talking about?
The 20% of people who got homes they shouldn't have, got them because of Bush's American Dream Downpayment Act. 2003. An act disguised as helping the lower middle-class that only helped banks with their adjustable rates steal from the "dreamers." It was and still is a collossal waste of tax payer money. $200 million a year shot to hell thanks to the "fiscally responsible" Republican President and Congress of '03.
The height of arrogance is the height of control of those who create God in their image. This ideological process of distortions and dehumanisation over the millenia is a nessasary feature of minority rule to control societies for their material gain and power. Capitalism is the globalisation of the rule of the minority elite and global phenomena of the monetary control of the working class shackled in wage slavery of useless employment in world market mechanism of atificial scarcity.

Yes Ron Paul is a heartless bastard who wants to end the wars, end corporatism and has real solutions to fix health care. But what would he know about health care, he was only a doctor. @ShatterNWO Real solutions?!? Like what...letting you die? No regs on Wall St/Banks! WTF do you think got us in this trouble in the first place moron? Besides Dubbers tax breaks 4 wealthy.
@MrClaydough You are a moron. No regs on wall street? You have to get permission to fucking hire ppl on Wall Street, the financial crisis came from low interest rates set by the fed, loose home lending practices that were insured by gov't and the bailouts which privatized the rewards but socialized the risk. All of these were actions of gov't. We use to have the best health care system in the world before Medicare and Medicaid, are we even top ten anymore?
@MrClaydough I know we are not in top 10, understand context much? George Bush passed more regulations during his presidency than any other president. The US use to be 1/20 of the world population and had 1/4 of the worlds wealth. All this was before we had a federal reserve, income tax and IRS. Do you understand how the fed setting low interest rates creates mal investment which leads to economic collapses like we are currently experiencing.
@ShatterNWO you could not be more wrong. lol. medicare and medicaid became part of our healthcare system BEFORE we reached to top ten among the best healthcare systems. But you are correct that we are way below that now since so many other countries now have heatlhcare systems where everyone has heatlhcare. lol BTW, the teaser rate loans were not set by the fed. either. and 80% of all loans that have been foreclosed on were not subject to CPA or any low income loan legislation.
@barsense I never said specifically that teaser rate loans were set by the fed. But its that 20% that got homes they shouldn't have got, that artificially raised the prices, ppl thought there homes were worth more than they were and they got into more debt thinking they could pay it off. I'm not sure what you were trying to say about medicare because of your grammar? But a lot of America's health problems stem from prevention, not care, we eat like shit, we over medicate and we work more.
@ShatterNWO Sorry but 20% getting loans for lower value realestate had nothing to do with prices for higher value realestate. Nothing wrong with my grammar LMAO, perhaps your comprehension capacity is limited. We reached top ten among healthcare AFTER we had medicaid and medicare NOT before it. lol And yes all Americans need access to healthcare and the medical profession needs to concentrate much more on teaching prevention.
@ShatterNWO And BTW, MAYBE it would make more sense to readers if you blamed it on the 80% that got loans in the higher income they should not have gotten rather than the 20% of poor people getting loans for much smaller sums for lower value real estate. LOL
@barsense The point is alot of ppl got loans for houses they couldn't afford that wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the Fed, Fannie/Freddie, Bailouts and the revolving door between government agencies and Big Corps.
@ShatterNWO again 80 % of all loans that were foreclosed on were made by lending institutions NOT subject to gov regulations, it does not make sense to fuss about the 20% when if it was just them there would have been no housing bust. THE 80% WERE THE PROBLEM AND HAD NOTHING TO WITH GOVERNMENT OTHER THAN THAT THE GOVERNMENT DEREGULATED WHICH ALLOWED IT. lol
@barsense They make these ridiculous loans knowing they are going to get bailed out because there buddies work at the SEC, congress, senate and executive branch. Of course many of these big institutions are shareholders in the Federal Reserve, a quasi gov't institution. Artificially low interest rates set by the fed tell people to consume at times when they should be saving.
@ShatterNWO deregulation allowed this mess, loans were bundled high risk mixed with low risk and sold and resold and resold with trillions in derivatives bets on them because the derivatives market was unregulated. Wallstreet reform has made that much harder and that is why the banks are buying the republicans who are supporting repealing the regs. You hear repubs talking about small gov and regs all they are talking about is de-reg for wallstreet, INS. not FOR AVERAGE AMERICANS
