People GAVE him their money! He was a brilliant persuader and you losers on here attacking him will never amount to anything. Keep flipping burgers - He lived the good life
The sad thing is the guy had talent. He had a positive personality (at least on TV). If he pushed something legitimate he could have been positive on this planet. What a waste.
Why the fuck didn't he use that money to get a good lawyer? I liked to watch this fucker every morning at 3 or 4; he motivated me to get off the couch and fucking do something. The fucking Feds probably killed him.
Don Lapre demonstrated that its easier to make money by ripping people off like bernie madoff did. Suicide in jail proves he want people to know he was a scammer.
... What Don fails to disclose in the ad is the price associated with placing these ads. He doesn’t mention, placing “free classified ads.” Hence, what gains one would make in a few sells is offset by the costs associated with placing the ads in the newspapers. Moreover, I doubt there are over a thousand newspapers in the U.S, let alone thousands. Lastly, not all newspapers accept classified ads.

You're also boring so just keep being the little troll who occasionally tries to get in the face of real men (online only of course). You're a complete waste of time. Go study for your GED or look for a job okay?
@BDCorsi The size is as small as possible yet big enough to get prospects to take the next step,
I.e. call or write for additional info, go to a web site, leave name & phone number, address for addional info. You almost NEVER ask forANY money up front. Many years ago it was common to ask for as little as $1 to cover shipping/handling of a Free report, which offered useful info and was used to up-sell the main product for much more.
@BDCorsi You usually pay per word. Minimum word count is usually 10 words. That is usually sufficient to get adequate responses. If you're ultimately going to un hundreds or thousands of ads you want to keep ad costs to the bare niminmum.
@mymusicvideos111 No, actually genius ...my DOG was sleeping with your mom though. In time perhaps YOU will get over THAT!
BTW you are a disgusting excuse for a human being. You say that you are "glad that he is dead" but I want to ask you something ...Is there ANYBODY living on this earth that will honestly really and truly CARE when YOU die? I seriously DOUBT it. Your obsessive vitriol for a stranger says a LOT about you and what you are. Don't worry, you are just like MOST Poor people. (Sad)
What kind of a 'tiny classified' ad can be placed in 3000 newspapers and generate $30 per ad? Who would ever have the time to place that many ads without hiring about 100 people and fulfill the promises made in those ads? Never mind the cost of placing the ad. Figure $30 or so to place each ad, multiply by 3000, it'll COST you $90,000 per week! The concept screams out SCAM. This guy doesn't get much sympathy, a total con artist and liar.
@bailinnumberguy In your effort to appear intelligent you are revealing your own ignorance on the topic. This system is followed by people who are far wealthier than you will ever be. What kind of ad? MANY of them. People who only presume to know or understand that which they don't know OR understand will NEVER be successful. NEVER. ALL your presumptions are wrong. #1 it takes NO "time" to place "that many ads", they are placed with ONE broker. #2 The COST doesn't matter IF it's profitable!
@Bullseye2012 Even if it did make any reasonable money, don't you just feel like a cockroach doing this? Doesn't it make you realize there's something really wrong with your morality if you can go through with a scam like this? Don't you feel like a parasite? Because that's what you are. You're not human like the rest of us.
@watchout8433 No idiot. #1 it made far more than "reasonable money" and #2 it's obvious that there is something wrong with YOUR intelligence. The people who were smart enough to purchase the info product got much more than their money's worth and many of them are still working Gov't JOBS today as a result of it. This I know for a FACT. At that time you could not go to google and learn about these jobs and those who bought it were more than pleased. In your little mind everything is a scam. LOL!
@bailinnumberguy There is a good reason why most people are not and NEVER will be rich, or even anywhere close to it. MOST people think as you do. That's a FACT. Now look around you ...you are in the company of MOST people ...and MOST people are not and NEVER will be. I was operating mail order businesses successfully before I ever heard of Don Lepre. I've examined his system and it is a sound and practical one. Has worked for LOTS of people. ...The naysayers will NEVER succeed at ANYTHING.
Back in 1998 I actually bought one of his packages for $500 to place two classified ads - one for horoscopes and one for sports tips for betting. After the three week trial I did not make a dime. I called, complained, and got the $500 back. Probably it became a ponzi scheme after awhile and only certain people got their money back, who knows.
@hager2000 ...and yet MANY people made literal FORTUNES advertising 900 and 976 numbers and both horoscopes and sports betting tips did extremely well for many people.
FACT: Most People who try real estate investing; stock trading; for ex; mail-order; online marketing; ANY retail business; or ANYthing else requiring personal initiative FAIL at it! MOST! Now that proves what?
Did he ever say what the tiny ads contained? Was it ads for the 900 numbers? Just curious as I've always wondered since first seeing him what you'd place in them.
NOW HIRING: Gov't Jobs. Easy Work. Excellent Pay. Call 1(800)000-000
Scoff all that you want but I ran that tiny ad, made a TON of $. The phone number goes to a voice-mail recording that explains the PRODUCT being sold and tells people how to order it. I used a phone answering service with commissioned telemarketers who actually read a script, sold it and took phone orders. The info package did what it promised, helped people to get Govt. jobs. THAT is the system!
@Bullseye2012 So you lie by setting the ad up to look like it was placed by an employer. Unemployed people call to inquire about a job and then you peddle them a worthless booklet or something. You call that a business? You are pathetic, Urkel.
@satoop The ads contain WHATEVER the ad poster ...(YOU) puts in them. He simply gave people info on operating a home based mail-order business using classified ads. It's a time tested formula. Just pick up ANY newspaper or magazine and you will see TINY CLASSIFIED ADS. Do some research and you'll see that some ads are ALL OVER THE PLACE ...and some have been running the same ads for YEARS so obviously they are making money ...while the haters just make excuses and call EVERYTHING a "scam".
If everyone's product, slogan, or promise didn't live up to it's claims, the entire government, the rubber spray company, billy mays, founders of amway, mary kay, almost every business owner would be indicted on fraud. The ones that are whining about him are likely poor and on government assistance.
@billybrownstar And if any of that bullshit actually made any real money then they would be endorsed by people with decent reputations and not by people who slit their own throat because they know they're guilty. Brownstar is a good name, asshole.
@sbrooks187 : Not sure if that was exactly it. Put it this way, if you put you and I in a room, and I had a a sharp stick...and just kept poking you, and poking you...and not letting you sleep, then poked you some more, then when I slept, someone came in and took over, and kept poking you, then they poked you some more, then they slept, I I came back in and poked you over and over, and it never stopped....i promise....you'd eventually commit suicide if you had the chance.
Now all scammers will hate Obama Administration even more. Good.
RIP off Don Lapree. No, I didn't buy his things.
Scammers are killing USA middle class. Mortgage Scammers that gave loans to the very unqualified. And the one trillion dollars Iraq war Scam. All Scammers should be hanged. They steal from the Middle Class and poor mostly. The dam puss did killed himself before having to spend a few years in jail. Just another Coward Scammer.
Obama took another millionaire thief out plus blasted Bin Laden and his cadre too? He is anti free enterprise scams and wants control of the world? What is next, the overpaid Republican Congress Millionaire's Club? Someone save the Capitalist Freeloaders from extinction. Vote Republican like this guy was.
Marketing and selling products is not a scam. This is how this country was founded. There were more entrepreneurs at the beginning of our country than there were hired hands. We have really flipped our lid towards capitalizsm and view it as a bad thing in this country. Don Lapre was awesome - he created $52 million dollars in one of the worst recessions in American history. Most of you guys will never be so lucky. He was a fascinating character. God rest his soul.
@tedcantu1 I agree with you 100%. It's true but unsuccessful people will only continue to listen to unsuccessful people who _obviously_ know NOTHING about success. It makes it that much easier for them to feel adequate about their own shortcomings in life. The next time someone tells you that 'everything' is a "SCAM" ...take a good look at how/where they live ...versus people like me who are optimistic about any and everything and realize that almost ANY formula idea COULD work and DOES for some
If all agencys, companies, etc were indicted for fraud for innacurate advertising, claims or reports, 80% of all company officials as well as governement officials would be in prison. I can guarantee you that the ones that are posting comments like "Well, he was guilty of fraud or "defraud" are poor, on welfare, and are unhappy with their own situation. People who haven't found success, look for someone else to blame. Just scroll through comments to see who the failures are.
Don't get me wrong...i condone what he did, and feel worse for the victims like me and everyone else, but all in all it's really an American Tragedy! Would have been better if he went to court and got what was coming of him. i don't wish upon anyone to die over something like that...real shame! I just hope everyone gets their fair share back from his scandals. I really wish he wasn't dead, it was more fun to make fun of him when he was alive!
@2lowforzero rumor has it that he would tell you to place an ad that said "want to know how to make thousands a week? Send 5 dollars to (your PO BOX here)" or something similar, of course no one ever answered them or sent you a penny, well, no one with any sense any way lol. If they did answer you were supposed to refer them back to Lapre's company. A blatant, and honestly fairly unapologetic pyramid scheme, lol.
@RandomConcepts I like the way you think. People who make mistakes like this are always coined as greedy and evil, but this is a tough world and nobody really gives a damn about you so it is easy to make dumb mistakes in the name of self preservation.
I bought this system back in the day when i was living in Phoenix, AZ and then when i got it, tried to return it, couldn't, so i actually "drove" my car to the physical location where it was sent....i got there, in a warehouse mall, tried knocking on the door, noone there,...i was MAD and felt ripped off! With that said, and all these years passed...i feel bad what happend...he should have been a motivational speaker instead! He would have made millions doing motivational speaking instead!
@Cosmos3001 Question: WHY did you want to return it? What was it about the "Tiny Classified Ads" system that was not to your liking (assuming that is the "system" that you're referring to). I'm just curious.
@popos22 That is actually a great concept. It works. If you create an ad that sells something... enough to make a profit...then putting it in multiple newspapers will multiply your profits. Say you earn $40 on an ad. If you place that same ad in 100 newspapers that have the same kind of readership, and the same demographics... you could make $40 X 100 newspapers = $4000.00. It simple leverage. This part of Don's business was not a scam.
@popos22 The ads were for a 1-900 number that people would phone, and they would be charged on their phone bill. Obviously the person placing the ad never made a dime.
When I was younger I worked in a boiler room for a couple of days. Once I was nearly in tears as I took a credit card number for what I knew was a worthless product. Shortly thereafter I walked out. I decided I would rather starve than make money selling useless junk.
There are people out there who will whip out their credit cards for anything. They just can't say no. There are millions of them and fraudsters like Lepre will always have access to them because those people are born daily.
The world is SUCH a better place without this scamming piece of shit. He was the original spammer and people who make money that way are wastes of humanity.
@MrGrevy I hope you are including our government officials, bank CEOs, doctors, pharmaceutical companies, etc. in this waste of humanity that you are taking about. Don Lapre technically did not do anything wrong. True, he loved to make money, but look at our banks, credit card companies, doctors, etc.... talking about ripping us off and nothing being done about it. Let's go after the REAL criminals in this country....
I feel for Don and his family. May he rest in peace.
@bonk2001 Oh I definitely do! I just think Lapre was even more dishonest because he was selling people pipe dream bullshit and he knew it. I suppose you could say the same for the bankers. I don't really include pharma in that because they produce valuable products, unlike bankers/ceo's. I'm with you on that stuff. Our society's sick obsession with money is ruining lives.
I made 100 k a month for over 2 years and because of his ideas I was able to pay for Little Susies college education and I have enough in the bank that I will now be able to pay for my grandkids college educations as well provided Susie and her hubby have kids.
I made over 100K in less than a year with Dons ideas and parlayed that into a 7 figure small business that I sold for almost 65 mill at the heighth of the dotcom scam.
Whoever lost money to that guy is a f*cking idiot. You need to have half of the brain to understand that this is a scam. Ponzi scheme were invented at the beginning of 20th century but people are still dumb and stupid to get into it. And for your information multi pyramid marketing is based on ponzi scheme.
god how i hate these faggot actors who pretend to be regular people being interviewed and actually profited off of or purchased these fucking products. they're just as much to blame as this goon who scams the suckers out of their money. being too stupid to smell a scam should be your own fault, not this dudes. how the fuck do you think governments get rich...scamming sucker citizens.

So I still have one unanswered question...what are the size of these classified ads? you failed to mention the size of these ads Don...
BDCorsi 3 months ago
@BDCorsi The size is as small as possible yet big enough to get prospects to take the next step,
I.e. call or write for additional info, go to a web site, leave name & phone number, address for addional info. You almost NEVER ask forANY money up front. Many years ago it was common to ask for as little as $1 to cover shipping/handling of a Free report, which offered useful info and was used to up-sell the main product for much more.
Bullseye2012 3 months ago
@BDCorsi You usually pay per word. Minimum word count is usually 10 words. That is usually sufficient to get adequate responses. If you're ultimately going to un hundreds or thousands of ads you want to keep ad costs to the bare niminmum.

This guy doesn't get much sympathy, a total con artist and liar.
bailinnumberguy 3 months ago
@bailinnumberguy In your effort to appear intelligent you are revealing your own ignorance on the topic. This system is followed by people who are far wealthier than you will ever be. What kind of ad? MANY of them. People who only presume to know or understand that which they don't know OR understand will NEVER be successful. NEVER. ALL your presumptions are wrong. #1 it takes NO "time" to place "that many ads", they are placed with ONE broker. #2 The COST doesn't matter IF it's profitable!
Bullseye2012 3 months ago
@Bullseye2012 Even if it did make any reasonable money, don't you just feel like a cockroach doing this? Doesn't it make you realize there's something really wrong with your morality if you can go through with a scam like this? Don't you feel like a parasite? Because that's what you are. You're not human like the rest of us.
watchout8433 3 months ago
@watchout8433 No idiot. #1 it made far more than "reasonable money" and #2 it's obvious that there is something wrong with YOUR intelligence. The people who were smart enough to purchase the info product got much more than their money's worth and many of them are still working Gov't JOBS today as a result of it. This I know for a FACT. At that time you could not go to google and learn about these jobs and those who bought it were more than pleased. In your little mind everything is a scam. LOL!
Bullseye2012 3 months ago
@bailinnumberguy There is a good reason why most people are not and NEVER will be rich, or even anywhere close to it. MOST people think as you do. That's a FACT. Now look around you ...you are in the company of MOST people ...and MOST people are not and NEVER will be. I was operating mail order businesses successfully before I ever heard of Don Lepre. I've examined his system and it is a sound and practical one. Has worked for LOTS of people. ...The naysayers will NEVER succeed at ANYTHING.
Bullseye2012 3 months ago
Back in 1998 I actually bought one of his packages for $500 to place two classified ads - one for horoscopes and one for sports tips for betting. After the three week trial I did not make a dime. I called, complained, and got the $500 back. Probably it became a ponzi scheme after awhile and only certain people got their money back, who knows.
hager2000 3 months ago
@hager2000 ...and yet MANY people made literal FORTUNES advertising 900 and 976 numbers and both horoscopes and sports betting tips did extremely well for many people.
FACT: Most People who try real estate investing; stock trading; for ex; mail-order; online marketing; ANY retail business; or ANYthing else requiring personal initiative FAIL at it! MOST! Now that proves what?
Bullseye2012 3 months ago
Did he ever say what the tiny ads contained? Was it ads for the 900 numbers? Just curious as I've always wondered since first seeing him what you'd place in them.
satoop 3 months ago
@satoop Here is an example:
Bullseye2012 3 months ago

Bullseye2012 3 months ago
If everyone's product, slogan, or promise didn't live up to it's claims, the entire government, the rubber spray company, billy mays, founders of amway, mary kay, almost every business owner would be indicted on fraud. The ones that are whining about him are likely poor and on government assistance.

Just scroll through comments to see who the failures are.

i dont understand his small ad in advertisement section, how do you make profit by doing that?
popos22 3 months ago
@popos22 That is actually a great concept. It works. If you create an ad that sells something... enough to make a profit...then putting it in multiple newspapers will multiply your profits. Say you earn $40 on an ad. If you place that same ad in 100 newspapers that have the same kind of readership, and the same demographics... you could make $40 X 100 newspapers = $4000.00. It simple leverage. This part of Don's business was not a scam.
joeaverage1234 3 months ago
@joeaverage1234 I agree 100%
Bullseye2012 3 months ago
@popos22 The ads were for a 1-900 number that people would phone, and they would be charged on their phone bill. Obviously the person placing the ad never made a dime.

When I was younger I worked in a boiler room for a couple of days. Once I was nearly in tears as I took a credit card number for what I knew was a worthless product. Shortly thereafter I walked out. I decided I would rather starve than make money selling useless junk.
There are people out there who will whip out their credit cards for anything. They just can't say no. There are millions of them and fraudsters like Lepre will always have access to them because those people are born daily.
