question: how do you get the chord progression right to accompany a reel? i play whistle (not as good as you yet, but i'm a quick learner), but i'm at the point where i'd like a friend to accompany me on guitar. problem is i'm not the best guitarist, so i wouldn't be able to teach a progression if i don't know it. any help on this would be appreciated.

hey, if you havent gotten anything yet, can get Sony Acid Studios. That's what I use, and it's really great. However, it's a little more complicated than Audacity, and it's a little costly. Worth the money tho. Great job you guys!

Heck NO! Recorder is a LOT different than the whistle. The whistle is actually easier. If you're considering learning, go for it, it's loads of fun!

as part of my school of 200 kids from grades pre k through 12 we were forced to learn recorder and everyone hates it, but i actualy loved it and now that im learning the tin whistle its going fast cause of my experience with the recorder

through 12th O.o wow dude. that sucks. my school only had to do it for 4th grade...and then band started in 6th grade. some people chose to learn instruments and some didnt. in highschool we had marching band... with all kinds of instruments. that sucks that ya'll had to do that though. jeez.

Wow year k through 12 sounds horrible .. we only had to do it for 1 or two grades in elementary school, then we got to choose to go to band or orchestra. I can't imagine 12th graders being forced to play recorder.

I enjoy your performances and this one is great. Just a suggestion on the sound. Perhaps you could record the sound independantly of the camera and synch it to the film later. If you get all your sound on the one device in one take it would be easier to sychronise sound with picture than sound with sound. I use a sony battery powered stereo microphone with a HI MD recorder. It seems to work well if you position instruments appropriate distances.
