you should actually do it neatly. make the hole precisely in the middle of the card so that it immediatly hangs straight but he did it fast so he had to **** up the hole card to make it hang straight

use a magician wax to stick the thread . u can easily stick it and take it out. plus u can show the card to the audience after u do the trick . *make sure u take off the string before u do* :) cheers
