I think the success of Rock & Roll Jeopardy! is what prompted the regular show to use the main theme and think music from that version especially for the Teen Tournament and College Championship since most teenagers and college students love rock music.
It's actually the one made for Rock and Roll Jeopardy, also from way back in the 90's (R&R Jeopardy was hosted by Jeff Probst, who now hosts Survivor)

I hope that one day Jeopardy! does a Teen Tournament of Champions featuring the first 15 Teen Tournament winners.
