  • Another young harmonica brazilian virtuoso : Pablo Fagundes. Very serious stuff.

  • @IRACEMABABU Thanks, I'll check him out.

  • Iman, Brett, are you familiar with brasilian harmonica virtuoso Mauricio Einhorn?

  • @JGC255 Yes, of course. He is the senior in Brazil (w/ lots of compositions in the Brazilian standard repertoire). If you haven't heard of Gabriel Grossi, the wunderkind who is also a Hermeto school follower and studied w/ Einhorn, you should check his first solo CD "Diz Que Fui Por Ai" and the duet with Marco Pereira.

I am curious about how chromatic harmonica is considered in the Brazilian music.

  • Keep it comin'! :)

  • Great! I am a german pianist who went to study with Amilton Godoy, the pianist of the Zimbo Trio in 2002. He was the theacher of Deborah Gurgel playing with Dani, who must be her daughter. They really have a great school in Sao Paulo.

Now I am recording a tribute to the Zimbo Trio.... My group is called Zimbolico. Toninho I saw in Brasil. I hope to get intouch with Iman Buddy Santoso....

  • @Jens67 Love the Zimbo Trio

  • UW-Madison? The first time I watched Oregon playing was at Main Street. Agriculture, Husbandry and Land Tenure were big there in the 70s. It was huge when McCoy Tyner visited the campus... There was a good College Band always rehearsing at noon in of the U-buildings. Great time... Now, Bret, what a good interview you got here. What a story this gentleman has to tell us, and what an enlightening point-of-view. Tks for the upload!

  • @rmoraespinto McCoy in the 70s was very exciting. Appreciate the kind words.

  • is that Ron Stout on the keys at about 5:26?? I've studied with him, and I thought he played trumpet.

  • @beChoiii Not familiar with Mr. Stout.

  • @JazzVideoGuy Mr. Stout's played with Horace Silver, Dizzie Gilespie, and quite a few other huge names. He played in the Woody Herman big band for quite a while.

  • @beChoiii Good to know. I'll check him out.

  • @beChoiii hahahah dude seriously?? That is hermeto!!!

  • @DajaWaja Looks like Hermeto. Sounds like Hermeto.
