The original American Pie series captured the true awkwardness and social problems of a young adult, whilst having original characters. Such as Finch, Jim, Jim's dad and of course Stifler. Now a lot of these movies try to emulate American Pie because of it's success. But they just put in sex and alcohol and think that young people are stupid enough to accept that as a good movie.

American Pie was awesome because there were lots of different characters, and they all seemed very realistic - like people that you would actually see in real life.
