  • DAMN WHAT HAPPENED TO BET?.....LOL

  • Guy was fuckin incredible. They repped that Harlem uptown smooth yet ghetto style. That was back in the day when we all(including thugs and drug dealers)listened to R&B. Nowadays many hip hop fans dont really like that souful old school R&B but they'll sample it in a minute. Music from the late eighties ,early 90's &teddy represented the bridge between old soul from the past and the new generation. R&B will never be the same because today's generation stopped being influenced by the forefathers.

  • but most of his tracks he produced sound like another listen good you can hear the same type of beat time after time good tracks tho

  • could someone please upload Long Gone?

  • teddy riley is the king of R&B

  • this one off the gayest documentary i've ever seen

but the music is good though

  • this documentary is dope as hell. But at the same time it's very depressing. I mean music use to be creative, entertaining, jamming and classic. BET was a real black video network. Now look at BET.I can;t even watch it anymore and haven't in about three years. and music???!! Music??Today's music Rap, R&B, absolute garbage. Today's music will not be played in 20 plus years like all the classics like GUY, and most of the music made before 1997.It's really ashame how music is absolute trash now

  • @tknockerson i totally agree 100%!

  • TEDDY RILEY KING OF PRODUCERS

  • Lot's of talent there. Great producer. But I don't get all the hoopla over new jack swing. What's more is he has the cheek to actually insert samples telling people what it is, which is totally stupid.

Riley, in an interview, talked alot about the Roland D70 and I bought one because of the way he talked about it. He was right, it's a fantastic synth and I still use one to this day.

  • He did not produce most of the songs in this documentary. He did co-write a lot of them though.

  • NJS is a combination of 2 beats. the DC go-go beat and that old cut time jazz swing beat. Teddy shouldnt be labeled just as only NJS. His ballads were timeless, even the Blackstreet stuff

  • what song is the french guy singing?

  • hey man!! the song is I LIKE from the Guy's debut album. For me the more greatest song in new jack swing.

Another song sounds like it, it is "your eyes say it" by Anne G.

    Peace!!

  • @aartm95 Aight i feel that.... I love new jack.... I like Groove Me a lot.... I especially like Boys II Men

  • fuck you - shitface

  • oh man we need this right now!!!

this was the best time 4 music!! C'mon let start from the scratch;)

  • shut up, fucking bitch

  • i had Guy Album on Cassette, damn time Goes by...and im just 23, thx for my moms..she put me on music...

  • i remember my dad buying the album(not cd) and the cassette at the same time. i miss those days

  • Riley is a motherfucking genius!

  • Teddy, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis truly have a gift from God. Only a few true producers are able to create unique sounds for each artist and yet keep their flavor. Come back! I hate this microwave music!

  • @bronZeamaZon check out mike dean

  • @1Deep2424 Didnt Mike dean create this whole "Dirty south sound" in Hip-hop?

  • @soSpecialkay yeah he pioneered the whole thing from houston. hes made platinum tracks for kayne, z-ro, devin the dude, pimp c, scarface, basically everyone on rap alot records.

  • @bronZeamaZon: You forgot LA & Babyface and Mic Murphy & David Frank (aka The System).

  • im surprised too...jajaja

  • When we video taped at the party it was CRAZY --we had nat sound, lighting, and tape issues--I was excited that we even had something on the tape when we got back!! haha Tia

  • Man..old memories..we all grew up together in St.Nick(225)..and Brandon...Lamont was my friend Patrick's little brother. Damn where did the time fly. If you lived in 225 during the late 80's everyone got a chance to hear Teddy play sometimes all night..but it was all good to see one of us make it.

  • How did you knew that funky ace kool like ya mo´fo homies???

  • thats what im sayin!

  • i know teddy riley and aaron hall

  • Aaron Hall WROTE "My Perrogative"

  • Remember in the song "New Jack Swing" from Wrexx N Effect when Teddy was naming all of the people he worked with he actually said "Boy George, james Ing, Deja, and my homeboys Guy and u got to get down"

  • Yep! He did two NJS cuts, both produced by TR. And that's what I learnt on NJS4E and their forum! :-D

  • You need to post the rest of this. It's very good!

  • Yes but, Aaron Hall made Guy. Aaron Hall wrote almost every song for them. And let's not forget Aaron Hall was the VOICE.

  • U can say that again, i dont know whats wrong with TR, his respect Aaron Hall is somewhere HIDDEN. I remember in late 80`s and early 90`s everyone wanted to sound like Aaron Hall or Charlie Wilson, anyway, I love New Jack Swing and they will never be an era like that.

  • The song at the end is: Long Gone by Guy off "The Future" album

  • Thnx man!

  • Thanks for putting this up, As my big Homie said "Teddy Riley was the next Quincy Jones"

I am literally shocked of all the music that I didnt know T.R. was behind it.

  • My favorite producer since I know the music Teddy Riely.

Thanx to bring me to all good memoz

  • Does anyone know what the song on the end is?

  • Song on the end is called "Long Gone" from Guy's 2nd album "The Future" Last song on album unless u have the CD, then it's second to last cause the last song is a remix of "Wanna Get With U"

  • Jacci McGhee sounded too much like Karyn White to make it.

  • Thanks for posting this. Teddy Riley's my favorite producer of all time. I hope New Jack Swing will come back soon.

(I hope you'll post the rest of it soon)

  • I think that New Jack Swing is very underrated because it's not getting the credit that it deserves. If it wasn't for NJS, it will be no modern RnB sound of today, and that's real talk.

  • the new jack swing era was my favourite time in music.music aint what it used to be.
