The melody is very beautiful !, but the words are a little shocking to me. I know that your country won the freedom from the autocratic government at the cost of many ppl’s lives and your country becomes one of the most peaceful countries in the world, so I think it’s time for French ppl to modify “La Marseillaise » a little softer to French children. La Marseilleise is a very violent (and in some ways almost racist) song because it was originally a battle song at the time of the Revolution. There have been calls to change it in recent years, but we've hung onto it for ages so it probably won't change anytime soon.

Japanese children often sing the anthems standing like at the graduation ceremony with the teachers. But a few teachers at some schools refused to stand and sing it because of the lyrics even though the principals ordered. After that they were reprimanded for neglecting the order. These cases have been brought to the Supreme Court on whether the order violates the freedom of expression.
