I am so sorry that you lost your piggy. I remember when I was a kid and my first favorite guinea pig was dying, my mother let me stay home from school to be with it. You never forget them.
I try to think of Roy as my little guinea pig guardian angel, and that helps a little bit. After he died, I continued to hear his wheeking for awhile. Feel free to talk more to me if you need to. There are a lot of us piggy lovers and we're all different ages. So sorry for your loss.

I stopped posting shortly after this tribute to Roy. It was so painful losing him, and my other piggies (I still have two sows) don't have Roy's talents and heart. It is so good to hear that folks still watch and appreciate Roy. We all know what it feels like to lose one. Thanks for posting.

i am very sorry for Roy. My guinea pig passed 1 month away, her name was Sara, she was 7 years old. I do have another guinea pig Luis, he is sick and old only 1 year, he has urine infection and he dont produce much stool, its has been fifth day he is at veterinary clinic, they do feed him with critical care but he hates it. I pray for him to be ok, he is like person to me. pls advice how to make him to like the critical care the flavour is apple and banana. Thanks so much!
Roy loved his Critical Care and his friends who weren't sick used to steal it from him. Sometimes I would put some extra banana mashed in it or another fruit like strawberry or peach. That always worked. You can also put it in a big syringe and feed it that way. If they are hungry, they like the syringe feeding. Good luck to you. I sure hope your piggy pulls through. I still miss Roy so very much.

I just found out 6 minutes ago Roy has passed. I'd like to say he cheered me up and made me smile during my personal bad spell last Fall. Watching this critter stay chipper and play despite a broken body was inspirational. Goodbye, Roy! You'll live in our hearts.

Oh no! I'm SO sorry. My husband and I have been watching Roy's videos for a few months now. I'm so sorry for your loss. My Lily nearly died this weekend, and I was coming to ask you a question when I saw the latest Roy video. :( Lily's GI track went into stasis so she wasn't eating or going to the bathroom. We have to give her IV fluids and Crital Care. Lily hates it and I have to force feed it to her. How did you get Roy to like it so much? Roy brought so much joy into my life. Thank you.

Roy loved his Critical Care--especially the apple-banana flavor. He loved being syringe fed, but also liked it served up in a little bowl. Sometimes I would sprinkle something on top to make it extra special. Also, when Roy had no appetite, I would add a little orange squeezed in and/or mix in banana. He loved that!
You should be very proud of yourself, for the many years of unconditional love and devoted care. Roy aged gracefully and comfotably with you providing additional accommodation, he must know how much you loved him...
Roy was a special and cherished friend, and I know he will be there in spirits, watching and guarding over you...

I know exactly what you mean. We are not supposed to have favorites among our pets, but I know Roy was just as special to you as my Meimei once was.
It took me a few months to get over the anger and loss, and start to love my other piggies again for they are/
No pig will ever replace Meimei, I have learned to accept that with a humble hearts, but I will always be thankful for once having her in my life - just as you are with Roy...

Thanks, skinnypiggie, and all of you. Losing Roy has been huge. There's something special about the caretaking of a little guy who is completely dependent on you. I want to replace him so badly, but know he's irreplaceable and I have a hole in my heart. He liked making the videos and had gotten to the point where he could barely stay upright, so it would have been undignified for Mr. Roy to be filmed any more. But he stayed shining and loving and passed over very quickly.
So sorry to hear of your loss....I lost my little buddy as well on the 2nd of this month...I messaged you before about what you were feeding Roy...I had to feed Joel the same thing because his teeth were growing out of the side of his mouth and had really bad ulcers- he was taken to the vet and was okay for about a month- then he went down hill fast....I really miss that little fella- they are so special -

My heart goes out to you, I have lost 3 beloved guineas over the past few years and I cherish every moment I spend with my other 4.
RIP Roy, Princess, my Roxy & Fudge R with U in heaven. I also have a tribute 2 them, I think it helps 2 have these memories 2 look back on.
