My husband and I show this film everywhere we go. And each time we ourselves watch it, we get something more out of it . Bringing death awareness into everyday consciousness is the opposite of dismal. Every little joy brightens, and one experiences gratitude many more times each day. Last night we showed it to a pair of twenty-somethings. Never too early too begin opening to this lush and invigorating perspective.
I have seen this entire full-length film. It is awesome, moving, and the photographer who envisioned it and executed it is to be praised as highly as the extraordinary man who is its central character. Beautiful!
This man's work is truly profound. My first impression of him when I met was that he was arrogant, but that quickly changed. He fearlessly and compassionately asks the questions that need to be asked about death in our society. Get the full video!
This beautiful man is my friend and teacher...and I do agree, many have found him arrogant. Funny thing about arrogance...it seems to be something we call people when we don't like what they have to say! If he was any less so, we couldn't hold our respect. His gentle firmness taught me to be a better human. My mother, brother and sister died within 5 yrs of each other...without him I might today be on prozac waiting to be killed.
wow that was so enlightening, i wonder if there is a dvd release version of this so i may watch it. I am glad something like this is getting more scope because it is a subject in most peoples lives that is vaguely talked about, thus many of us are unsure how to handle the loss of a friend/family member.
wow that was great , I have breast cancer and have been close to Death and I did befriend Death , my highter power did not move to the nexts life but I am helping a friend who is in hospice and looking at death in the eye she is , here big fear is she will be A LONE at the time of her passing . I am hoping to be with her .cancer is a hard way to go , KATHY, FIRESTAR WOMAN =^..^=
Life and death are ultimately one. Life is the ying to death's yang in the yinyang of existence. If you have fears regarding death then you have fears regarding life. It's only human to be apprehensive about the unknown, but to fear it is disempowering.

People are afraid to be in pain when they die but does it matter? Once you die, the pain cease. Pain will not follow after death.
In my opinion there's no difference in someone who die from murder than the one who dies in it's sleep. Death will always be death.
