  • Awesome, but didnt see a bayonet lug anywhere. I think the capability to put a bayonet on the m1 carbine just makes it so kickass, other than that though, its a really nice rifle :D

  • please excuse me if im wrong, im not m1 carbine expert in any means but with it being a round bolt i think it was a m2 carbine mad semi

  • thts a fancy gun table u got thier

  • I've got a Saginaw gear WW2 with 3 30rnd mags 7 15rnd mags the bayonet and the original m1a1 folding paratrooper stock if your's is made in Fla its only worth 150.00 and probably wont increase in price but keep it for self defense they are great rifles to have

  • this is a great replica as I have one also..these shoot great and arent all worn out...oh look at the prices of the M14 replicas...almost the cost of a real one.

  • is this from plainfield machine company?

  • i'll never understand why people trade their guns off just save up your damn money i have a bolt action 22lr and a semi i have a 20 ga pump and a 12 ga break open i'll never get rid of them ever. i'll never sell or trade my firearms. of course that's why its a passion for me.

  • where in the hell did a deal like that come from? I have looked all over the place and cant find the rifle (a firing replica even) for less than 500 something.

  • Sheesh......back in the 70's people swapped and sold M1 carbines like so much junk, typical price was $50. Who'd a known the damn things would become so expensive and sought after?

  • @Blahblobify .. I'd love to have been a gun clooector back the. 50 bucks for an m1 carbine or an sks and ammo for pennies apiece, when i was a kid .22lr bulk ammo was about a third of a cent... now they all go for 3-4+ money!

  • @67mustangreg But that would mean parting with these beautiful firearms! ok my sigma 9mm isn't that hard to part with<.< but my 590a1 I plan on passing down

  • Nice carbine. i own one it fires just like a GI carbine and some of the parts are the same. they rattle the rounds off just as good

  • Its hard you can get parts and make them for cheep sothats how you could get one

  • Where the hell did you get an M1 carbine for only $150?! All the ones at the gun shops around here are at least $600+, and the cheapest one I've seen online was like $450.

  • The Orenginal Meaning I got A m1A1 Carbeen with a clip From WW2 Not fired untill resently Only 10 rounds Used So its still worth alot Will not sell just so you know.

  • Np I was just pointing it out Because i own One it's Awsome The way it works!

  • Sorry to burst your bubble But That is not a new M1A1 Carbeen Its is not original it is an replica The wood it to light a color. The color it's a little more dark red not brown. Again i am sorry but it might fire but it's not an original. I know because i own One thats worth $2,000 Without The Clip With the original Clip Alot more So sorry Learn to spot one out!

  • @jlacoste12 ..yup, it's well established that its a universal. it was a fun little carbine and if I hadn't traded it for something I love much more (all original french MAS 49/56) I would miss it.... I only paid 150 bucks for this and the ammo. I think I did okay. thanks for the comment.

  • @67mustangreg I hate you... why cant I find deals like that!??!

  • @67mustangreg i know you hear this alot but,hit me up if you happen to know of anymore deals, but i live in california.shhhh

  • @jlacoste12 LOL...a carbine worth $2k....lol. So being the magazines were never serialized for the carbines, how do you establish original? Fact is they were not delivered with magazines. They got the mags at the armory they were issued from. And don't even try and say you have a Universal carbine worth $2k even with the funky oversized mags they were sold with.

  • @jlacoste12 this coming from someone that says clip.

  • @jlacoste12 clip? er magazine maybe?

  • @jlacoste12 clip?

  • ha, thumbs up for the washing machine!

  • @mcmikeblues ....lol, hey man that thing kept my clothes looking fresh and clean for at least a couple years lol/ gotta love a new washer/dryer.

  • Nice unit, but in all reality a Universal is not a M1. Not even close in action, only thing comparable to them is the look and the fact you can interchange the magazines. other than that a ruger 10-22 is more comparable to a M1's internal actions and design than a Universal. Same round, different gun.

    Still fun plinkers tho !

A universal will run from 100 to 250 bucks, they also have a enforecer model.

While a low grade M1 will start you at about 350 and moving up rapidly in cost.

  • @LimpingCrow ...not quite. universal actually used GI parts for years until they ran out and had to start making their own. most parts interchange from "real" m1's to these. I'm not sure where you heard about the the internals being like a 10/22,.... I have several of thsoe too and they dont function similar very much at all. if you can find me a universal for $100 you can ship it to my FFL lol

  • @67mustangreg I think you are extrememly mistaked, take Universal and Gi parts are NOT interchangable.

All one has to do is break down both models and compare them side by side. The Ruger 10-22 is a knock of on the action of a Goverment Issue M1. Same trigger housing to a certian degree. But as a comparison between the 10-22 and the Universal, the !0-22 has more in common with a goverment issue M1 than a Ununiversal. A GI carbine parts are interchangable to any other GI carbine, completely.

  • @LimpingCrow Lastly, I had this same debate with a good friend of mine, he kept saying it say action in vietnam, etc etc, common error. So we hit the range with his Universal and my Inland and my Winchester. Debate ended right there. Grab a yellow book on the M1 carbine and see how much of that applies to the Universal, tops, 5%.

  • Dang good deal!

  • How much more powerful is the 30 cal. compared to the 9mm?? 357??

  • @wwood14 ...yeah they are much more powerful than a 9mm especially in a long rifle barrel vs handgun.

  • @wwood14 A 30 carbine has about twice the muzzle energy of a .357 Magnum depending on the load.

  • 150 sweet Mary balls at gander mountain they are like 800

  • Still not bad for a Universal. From what I understand, they were made in the 50's by a company that produced guns for Sears Roebuck. A good goun is never a bad investment. I love my Garand and my M1903 Springfield!

  • How well made are these repros?/ Looks pretty. have you shot it? Who makes them?

  • Anyone know if these take GI sights? Mine is missing the rear sight cuz someone mounted a scope on it. Its a universal.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 same thing with me i bought one and it came with this scope and i'm trying to find the right sights for the rifle.

  • @TrueAsianBoi911 Yea judging from the video and what I've look up thy take the standard 3/4 inch dovetail rear sights, u just slide them in (well actually u gotta pound the dumb things in) hope that is helpful to u, it took me awhile to be sure of it myself. If u get one be careful when u put it in, I would suggest using a clamp and screwing it in by tightening the clamp slowly.

  • @DystruktoBoi1 ...yes, they slide right in with some force... and also this video is over 2 years old but I kinda miss this carbine, it was fun. but I got a MAS 49/56 in trade so i think i did okay.

  • Are you going to replace the heating shroud for a wood handgaurd

  • I just got a MINT M1 Carbine made by IBM all original for $450 which means it was made in 1944

  • looks like a reproduction.....

  • @crimson1667 ..yup, it is. 7th keyword is universal. if I get a WW2 era one I'll keep it.

  • @67mustangreg I thought universal was one of the Us military contractors during ww2.

  • @topper454, can I have one of your M1s please? :-3

  • Any idea what it's worth?

  • @junkiron1 ..this one? about $350.

  • @67mustangreg $130-$500 for a reproduction if its in a war like ww2 $1000-$3000

  • I inherited my old great-uncle's M1 carbine. It was his WWII rifle. Got to bring it home. It was in rough shape but he wouldn't recondition it. Every scratch had a significance he said.

Hunted with it as a kid. At 100 yds it'll lay down a buck using SP ammo. I love it...and other than cleaning and maintenance, it's still in original condition...in his honor.

  • @junkiron1 I was thinking of taking mine for hunting too what was the biggest buck you took down and how many rounds did it take you? Here in Michigan your ONLY allowed a 5 round magazines for hunting :( so I go buy some new 5 round mags.

  • @wrksnfx I took an 8 pt 200 lb'er with it several years back. One shot. About 75-80 paces. He went about 50 yards or so after being hit. Bullet placement is key. The round is a bit under-powered IMO but will take game if you hit the vitals.

I use 110 gr Win. HSP ammo and I've taken several bucks at close range (50-80 yds) with it. Only one went very far...but that was my fault. Tried pushing the round out too far. It's a close-range weapon.

  • Where the heck did you get a $150 M1 carbine!?

  • @agumon12 I got lucky as hell. I sold this carbine ages ago though, kinda miss it.

  • @67mustangreg what is the music from?

  • @tarboy69 it isnt...its aguy on youtube that makes great music. look hi up : "david meshow" called mystery

  • @agumon12 its a repo version. universal arms prolley

  • @agumon12 its a remake from the 70s or 80s by probaly springfield armory or universal. that was still extemely cheap for it though

  • my father inlaw has a m1carbine thats full auto mi ia a machine gun state yeahh

    gotta love it

  • how do you like your carbine? Im thinking about using mine for hog hunting this year. My grandpa gave me his that he brought back from WW2 and i love that thing! Can you give me a website/place to find ammo and mags for it ive been having trouble finding them. Thanks!!

  • @TheCobaltCrawfish well this one I liked to look at but that was about it. I've never hunted hogs up here in the north but I think a .30 carbine may be underpowered. The round had bad field reports in the korean war against chinese in heavy winter coats. It would bounce off. You may want a more powerful shell. Anyway go to "cheaper than dirt" .com for mags and ammo. I have never seen hunting specific .30 carbine ammo though.

  • @67mustangreg it did not "bounce off" the chinese you can find a penetration test vid on youtube, its because most service men that got carbines got M2 which was a full auto weapon and they would spray and pray which led to the ineffective reports, it was very effective in WW2 i think if you use soft point ammo it would be a great hog gun out to 150 yards!

  • @TheCobaltCrawfish dude you need at least a .38 to kill a deer and now your talkin about a hog here.

  • @MrGunth3r For hunting feral Texas hogs caliber is not as important as you may think. Shot placement is key, ive taken a hog with a .22 from 75 yds and he dropped like a rock.

  • howd u get it for 150? did u need an ffl?

  • HAH, i got a ORIGINAL M1 .30 cal GI GENERAL MOTORS MFG for 200$ its worth 1,200 $. i think i'll hold on to it and give it to my son. NEVER GIVE UP YOUR GUNS.

  • @rob1upon1gsxr1000 I picked up my 1943 Underwood complete w/ 2 loaded 15 round mags and a loaded M-2 30 round magazines original sling, oiler, push button safety and adjustable windage rear sight I picked it up for $150.00 and like yours I had a local police officer offered me $1,400.00 for it my answer was the same NO!

  • @wrksnfx good for you brother, are'nt they some bad ass rifles? ill try to make a video of my guns soon. im going to the costa mesa gun show tomorrow, im looking for a colt 1911 or a colt 1908 vest pocket in .32 anyways good for you on that rifle. enjoy brother.

  • @rob1upon1gsxr1000 I want to an universal and try to make a bullpup version out of it w/ either 7.62X39 (AK47 round) or there was a guy who took and chambered it for .45ACP as well as the .50A.E. round that the Desert Eagle uses I think that would be SICK AS H377!

  • if you need any more ammo for it let me know ill send you some more ammo for it

  • @topper454 ..yes, ammo is hard to find these days and when I do find it it's not cheap.

  • they have it at bass bro shop here in texas I wish m2 ball ammo was as easy to find as .30 carbine

  • cool we are m1 carbine owners

  • cool now your a m1 carbine owner

    i have 12 m1 carbines

  • @topper454 ..wowwzers, you have 12? awsome! are they all ww2 surplus?

  • @topper454 any of them universal?

  • Thumbs up for using DavidMeShow music :D

BTW that is a nice rifle

  • @pavelkolp haha, yeah thanks :)

  • wtf cheapest ive seen is like $600 : (...were did you get it?

  • this IS a VERY beatiful rifle although it is a universal but DAMN you paid cheap

  • yeah, i sold this last month...and i got a MUCH better gun in trade :D

  • That seems to be a lower quality Universal, you can tell by looking at the bolt, if not not mistaken that's a lug showing in the charging handle. That version was made after 1968, but I must admit, $150 is a good deal, even for that one. They normally go for $200+

  • Yup, it's a universal. i have another video of it where I talk more in depth about it.

  • I got fucked when I bought mine. The gun prices were WAY up then.I paid 575 $ Out the door with a USED one here in Cali.( MINT though ) Where do you find your ammo? Everywhere I look they want 29.99 or more for 50 rnds...

  • Nice gun you got there.

  • Hey reg, sorry for not noticing this earlier!! Nice gun, I'm sure you can have a lot of fun with it!! I want one of these, If only eh :(

  • do a shooting vid too soon buddy

  • I will, it's just hard to find places to shoot where I live. The ranges all have lame rules so I only really shoot in the woods. I'd like to pack them all up and take a weekend trip and shoot them all. Maybe I will. I'll keep ya posted :)

  • I would kill to go with you on a weekend of shooting lol, you think your range rules suck, look at ours lol every club has to abide law rules, its omg

  • dude very nice guin you got it for a 150 bucks?

  • @codygrant94tracker

yes, $150+ about $75 worth of ammo and accessories :D

  • Beautiful rifle!

  • This is making me so pissed off lol, I want to be in americaaaaaa!!!! Lucky man, nice gun, 5*

  • $150!?!?! You basically stole that rifle! My great uncle used the M1 Carbine over the Garand in the Korean War! What an awesome piece of history. Hope you keep her for years to come.

  • Yes, I actually got it for even less then that but we'll just call it 150 :)

That is very cool, I know that many guys carried these in WWII, Korea and even in Vietnam. A lot of guys swore by these and the Garand. Kinda reminds me of GranTorino.
