  • I cant believe you had the courage to do this... Personally I would have taken it to the apple store genius bar... Did you think of doing that?

  • @Spartain117A Yup genius bar 100 miles away by car is where it was fixed. I of course called Apple Care several times and then the store before escalating. As of today, my new display is still 100% flawless!

  • UPDATE 12/11/11 THIS ISSUE HAS NOW BEEN RESOLVED BY APPLE. I COMMEND THEM FOR STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS AND RESOLVING MY ISSUE FOR ME. I WILL REMAIN A MEMBER OF THE APPLE PRODUCT FAMILY!

  • @IrixGuy How was it resolved? Did they replace your screen? If yes, how much time do you have the new screen? Did you notice any dust again?

  • @SoulstormGR They replaced the screen. The new screen has been installed since December and I have noticed no issues. As of today, it still looks as good as new. I'm hoping that the new display that they installed will not be plagued by the same issue a few months down the road. So far, so good!

  • I've contacted the Better Business Bureau and have encouraged them to assist with pushing Apple Computer to issue a product recall for the Apple Computer iMac 27-inch, Late 2009 model display.

  • the spots are growing so large now i might just resort tonusing the external display only. This is so disappointing that Apple doesn't address his. I hate Windoze but it makes one thing twice before buying another Apple computer.

  • Wow, I am impressed with your efforts. I will think of this video as a heads up warning and not attempt unless I am at the end of my patience. Thanks for your courage in doing this.

  • @thecountwp Thanks for the feedback and I am frustrated beyond belief now. I'm surprised at how easy it was to detach the outer glass layer but am extremely upset that the dust wasn't in between there. As a follow-up to this video, I want able to remove the suction cup ring by spitting on the glass and rubbing repeatedly with my thumb. The dust is still inside there though and is getting worse every day.

  • @IrixGuy I was able to remove the suction cup ring by spitting on the glass and rubbing repeatedly...silly auto-correct LOL
