  • Playing this right now - top of my justmusic playlist!

  • @justmusicandme

One of the best recordings I've ever heard.

    Thanks, Loretta.

  • loved the Glaser Bros. phyllis

  • I consider myself a metal head but I admit that I really like this version of this song. Beautiful.

  • Perfection.......seamless perfection!

  • @markathickory

    Thank you

  • @likekinds Well said.Mr. Kristoffersons' legendary songwriting absolutely compensates for any lack of physical (lyrical) abilities. We don't get to pick the gifts God gives us,just appreciate and use the ones he does bestow upon us to the best of our abilities.(and give thanks every day)jw

  • Look on GEMM and you will find it there to buy

    Steve

  • This is one of those that just never gets old. The Glasers' version of it was absolutely the best one. Kris was the best songwriter, ever, but unfortunately he never did have the voice to match his songwriting talent. (He even said on Johnny Carson's show, one time, that he "sang like a frog", & he should know his voice better than anyone, lol.) But I am forever indebted to him for the many, many hours of pleasure that he has given me with the beautiful songs that OTHERS recorded.

  • @JosieGirl1000

Thank you for that interesting input.

  • @likekinds No, thank YOU for putting this on YT!! The others on YT (same song) have very-poor audio. This keeps me from going to my music room or to my car to get my own recording of it. Lol.

Thanks again, and God bless you. Josie

  • Perfect video combination: Great song by Kris, excellent lead vocal by Tompall, sweet blending of vocal harmony, and superb musicians. Beautiful visuals, too. And the sum is even greater than the parts! This has been a longtime video favorite. On severl playlists. Love it!

  • @justmusicandme

Your words are very kind, and I appreciate them.

    Thank you.

  • An absolutely beautiful song. My local country station actually plays this once in awhile, and I always crank the radio when it's on. I never really knew if it was Tompall or Jim Glaser who was singing lead vocals, I thought it was Jim, but according to this post it was Tompall.

  • @mtnbob74 Yeah, Bob,

It's Tompall. As A matter of fact; there was a video here on YouTube with Tompall live, singing lead on this song. I kick myself every time I think about not downloading it, before it was removed.

Glad you enjoyed the song, and thanks.

  • @mtnbob74 : You're lucky to have a radio station that plays such music even once in a while!

  • @justmusicandme Every once in a while I will catch this on a local radion station. It quickly became a favorite of mine!

  • @UtahMike41 Be happy you have good radio stations in Sacramento! Detroit used to have the best radio in the country but now it's all formula.

  • @justmusicandme Actually I live in Salt Lake City. I was born in Sacramento. But thanks just the same. I don't think I could ever live in Detroit. Not now. Maybe if I was born an raised there it would be fine.

  • love the harmony of these guys, love this song.

  • Kristofferson wrote great songs. Nobody did this one better than Topall,

  • @keenleon

    You are correct. Yeah!!!

  • Kristopherson wrote great songs. Nobody did this one better than Topall,

  • such a good song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Still a Favorite!

  • I love this number.. What harmony !!!!

    margaret

  • I appreciate the genius behind making a video of such a beautiful song with such a simple but hypnotic visual. This is great! Thanks!

  • @Adamfulgence

What can I say? Simplicity has it's place. Thanks, Eileen!

  • Quite simply one of the most beautiful songs ever written, and an outstanding version of it.

  • I absolutely love this song.

  • I think this is the best vesion. I work with Tompall Glazer every once in a while

  • I like this version the best, they're all good. I work with Tompall Glaser's cousin every once in a while.

  • While since I played this ,which i have in my favourites, just thought Id rate it again.

  • Hey Ray!

I know what you mean. It seems the really good songs have a way of calling us back again and again.

  • Yeah,My favorite version too.I've looked & looked for this to buy.But just can't find it.

  • @darthnemesis1 It's on the Lovin Her was Easier Compilation CD. i got it off the internet a few months back.

  • of all the versions of this song. this is my favorite.

  • Mine, too.

  • These fellows sing this so beautifully,

and so mournfully. We love it! This is a hauntingly beautiful song. Thank you so very much!

  • Yes, it seems they put heart and soul into it.

    Thank you, too!

  • That is - the thing about being as upset as the earlier commentor about the fact that the footage of Glazer Brothers performing this in concert seems to have disappeared from the net.

  • Does anyone have the version of Jose Feliciano singing this song, the guitar playing in it is awesome. If anyone has it please post it. Cheers

  • Check your PMs

  • Love the video

  • Sorry, I'm late. Thanks a lot, Ray.

  • M,

I'm sorry the music made you cry and I'm glad it made you smile. I enjoy helping people remember their past. I hope from now on, your memories will be sweet or bittersweet and never bitter.

I'll look for 'Rings And Things". Do you know who it is by?

  • I'm a 35yr old (now)Rock chick, but proud to say I was brought with good old style C & W and this brought back such memories. The Glasers' came to Aberdeen Scotland where I live many years ago, my mum wrote to them previouly and they dedicated a song to me!! My mum and dad are long since died and this just made me cry, smile and think of all the days as a child listening and taking in. Thank you. Does anyone remember 'Rins and Things' as my memories are hazy.

  • I thought I hated country western until I heard Tompall & the Glaser Brothers, in ...tick...tick...tick.

    This song requires no explanation.

  • Thanks, Quag!

  • I love this song and love the harmonies of Tompall and the Glasers...Thankyou

  • Thanks CB

Tompall's version of this song is so easy on the ears.
