  • I won my wife's heart playing this version, that was a few months short of thirty years ago !

Jees, DB still brings back some kind of memories.

  • I've heard this version of this song since the 70's. Truly remarkable. David grabs the essence of the song perfectly. Playing with Jerry Jeff for years certainly helps. I like both of their versions and even Nitty Gritty Dirt Bands version, but Davids RULES.

  • His singing captures this song perfectly.

  • THE BEST! I should know. Takes one to know one.

  • The best ever!!!

Try the David Bromberg free channel on the free version of Pandora

  • Wonderful.

  • > this is the best version you're ever going to hear of this song.

    i agree

  • Blows me away every time I hear it....

  • arguably, no

  • Great to hear David do the song with much of the same instrumentation that he did on that original WBAI recording. Great stuff.

  • I had this record and I must have listen to this tune more then the amount thats up there .This is a grate version of this song.

  • Very nice rendition, and perhaps the most perfectly elegant, beautiful guitar symphony I've ever heard.

  • A nice tribute to a great song, a humorous tale about one of this country's legendary songwriters plus a tender, beautiful guitar solo - David's version of 'Mr. Bojangles' is timeless and inspirational.

  • This is good! He does great accompaniment with Jerry Jeff singing this song on the Arlo Guthrie show back in 1987.

  • Bromberg just fucking kills this. Phenomenal.

  • @diggitus isn't it though...sublime.

  • Who's arguing. Beautiful,and touching.

  • Mr. B, you've singing has given me more joy than most things in this life!

  • Definitely!!!

an amazingly delicate and beautiful solo arrangement by Bromberg,

    and a great story too!

  • Arguably? I'm not arguing.

  • WHFS 102.3 in Bethesda, MD (USA).

    early 1970's.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs ever performed.
