I've heard this version of this song since the 70's. Truly remarkable. David grabs the essence of the song perfectly. Playing with Jerry Jeff for years certainly helps. I like both of their versions and even Nitty Gritty Dirt Bands version, but Davids RULES.
A nice tribute to a great song, a humorous tale about one of this country's legendary songwriters plus a tender, beautiful guitar solo - David's version of 'Mr. Bojangles' is timeless and inspirational.
I won my wife's heart playing this version, that was a few months short of thirty years ago !
