there is no way in hell that this is sludge metal. the way that this song is composed is almost contradictory to sludge metal. Sludge is slow and drags its feet through the hallway like the fuckin swamp thing...which is awesome. but mastodon is just far too melodic and calculating and clean to be sludge. now this song may have some sludge elements, but that is negated by the lead guitar licks and the extra-clean drum-rolls
