I'm in the U.S. and as such am only just now discovering this incident. Shameful to say the least. I'm glad she was removed from the show. Interestingly enough, she only seemed to become truly apologetic when it became clear she was in danger of being evicted or removed from the house. Before that, she was as cool as a cucumber. Quite telling behavior if I do say so. She seemed like such a nice person before that incident and then, who she was and how she felt reared its ugly head.

It was right to throw her out, but it doesn't help when the word is constantly used in music and amongst some black people. Imagine if the word 'cu*t' was used in music and taken up by significant groups of people in normal conversation. Through constant exposure to the word it would become less 'taboo' to use it. I agree, at least to the extent that I don't beleive she meant to offend. But the fact is she DID offend (or potentially offend) many people.
It is a shame that the need to impress was so strong for her that she forgot her tongue; although this does not excuse her behaviour, I believe it to be the underlying cause.
It is Nikki I felt sorry for; though the comment was not directed at her, she was obviously very offended by it, whereas Charley seemed to gloat that Emily had been caught out.
