yes if you buy an amp, like the astro 5.8 wireless amp, it is surround sound amp and hooks up to ps3 or xbox with attachments. It does make your head set a synthetic suround sound headset, it is 100 dollars though

The reason it feel FLIMSY is because the mic is movable you can move it around or bend it anyway if you didnt know :P
