I really love Mike in those days but i think that somewhere between Octavarium and Systemetic Chaos he lost his way. I was really disapointed when i learned that he left the band but i heard the ''dramatic turn of events'', i saw them live this summer and they are still awesome even without him.

Jorden Rudess is one of the greatest musicians in the world! He is definitely right at home in this great band. In fact I feel that their music is much deeper and multifaceted since he joined them. I'm not putting down the great work they did with Kevin Moore or Derek Sherinian. They are both outstanding players. It's just that Rudess brings a bit of that old carnivalesque funhouse vibe in from time to time. He plays with a wink if you get my drift. A masterful composer and performer. A genius.

I love watching Dream Theater in the studio... but live they're just not for me. I saw them at Graspop 09 and I'm pretty sure I made John Petrucci sad when he was looking in the crowd, saw me and I was looking almost angry.
