  • JESUS CHRIST! SLOW DOWN GOD DAMMIT!

  • Hey can you please tell me how to remove stickers that have been very old and scratched; they are very hard to get off but I don't want to scratch bike paintt ;) thanks

  • @junior4girlz hair dryer helps loosen the glue

  • Great vid series. Short and to the point.

  • I love to restore old bikes because its fun and also the frames have history, Fuck new bikes.

  • Do You need To Sand The Primer Again?

  • @MaRsx909 not if your final coat looks perfect

  • ohh this is an SOS...i need help painting my bike...

  • With the whole thing's I need to buy, I'll rather buy a new bike.

  • so my bike is new, i...

sand all my paint and stickers off.

add primer 3 coats wait for it to dry

add paint 2 coats wait for it to dry.

    reassemble?

    thanks mike! ;)

  • if you paint your bike flat black do you still need a clear coat????

  • @thebiggieballs depending if u use single stage paint (has the finishing coat in it already) or normal flat paint. if its a normal flat paint buy SATIN CLEAR COAT. its basically a clear coat that wont make the paint shinny.

  • Way to go dad:)

  • So i print something out then clean the part were i want it

  • Loved the video, I do not agree with everyone else. You talk just fine. I mean you did fit a tutorial on how to paint my bike into like 5 mins. I do have a question though. Is there a significant difference between the spray gun and using a rattlecan?

  • Do you need to sand down each coat of primer or just the one before the final coat of primer

  • Do you add the decal then add the clear coat?

  • @liftedresearch47 if you want them on there permanently yes

  • @liftedresearch47 - Thanks for the video. Quick question. After the second coat of primer do you sand it down again before using paint? Thanks again.

  • cocaine's not good for you health and your way of speaking

  • your dad painted the crown race ... facepalm

  • DUDE! Just like you said on this video... Take time! Take time to talk slow! That way we'll get your instructions clear in one single play instead of trying to watch it over again and again.

  • Nice tutorial but I still don't know how to put a sticker on my bike

  • @Jesus22337 clean the surface and apply the sticker

  • nice tutorial.. anyway, how long the painting process takes time? can I find those required things on Ace? thanks for the response

  • @leatherandlacedesign yes you do to remove the dust

  • i like that he talked fast and delivered the information. only thing tho is why is there a dura ace headset used in that bridgestone department store bike.

  • thats a nice bike......

  • why are you yelling at me

  • very helpful...cant wait to paint mine, its gona be guy harvey themed with the stickers on it and rod holders and tackle box on back

  • @SenorDingles

where do you come from? (*DOS hhaha)

  • can u pleassseee talk slower next time?

  • @n33dw33d3333 usually cranks are anodized you can paint them but it will rub off

  • Finally! A fast paced tutorial.

Keep up the good work. ;)

  • Speak abit slower!

  • Alright So I've followed all your directions. My frame is ready to spray the primer and paint. But to sand the first primer coat you say too use 1000 grit. But the highest I got right now is 800. Would that work?

    Thanks

Great Videos. Your my bike encyclopedia

  • @fuckthebuff1000 yea that should work fine

  • @SenorDingles is it safe to do this process to my cranks?

  • Dude! Your videos have helped me out so much! I will be posting a link to my blog later so you can check the finished result. Thank you so much for all the advice!

  • You need to slow down on the talking bro...

  • what is the link to the decal web site?

  • so........is he gay?

  • when do you have to use the grey scotch brite pad??

  • Do you need to sand between finish coats?

  • @merizojoe only wet sand with 1000 if u had runs or problems in your finish coat

  • do i skip the clear coat if i want to paint my bike with a flat and not a glossy coat?

  • @blaketnewman I am not a pro but my guess would be yes.I have a bike that doesn't have a clear coat and as a result its easy to scratch and chip if a small stone hits the frame while riding. My guess would be that the clear coat adds extra protection to the frame so the bike doesn't scratch so easily.I think the finish looks better without the clear coat so when i get around to painting my bike a new color im just going to paint it matt.

  • That paint & decal combo looked awesome! Have you shown the completed bike?

  • Could you do a short video on applying decals correctly before applying clear coat. And which types of decals to use or not use.

  • your disturbingly funny.

  • hit that 1080p yea buddy

  • my ears started popping at the end because i have bose in-ear and it hurts

  • Good tip

  • How or when would you paint another color if you wanted to paint a dual color bike?

  • @sqeekyfoot paint your first color then mask off the parts of the bike you want to paint that color then spray your second color, unmask the whole bike then clear it

  • do you put the stickers before the clear coat?

  • @lamboLP6704SV you can but you dont have to

  • Mate how did you paint the little letters on the top part fork and the stays? The ones that are kinda carved....? Thanks!

  • @cesartejadaful i think you can paint that with a thin brush

  • Youtube doesn't charge extra for the extra 30 seconds to run through this video. Please slow down on the talking. Makes you sound like you're on drugs.

  • Probably one of the most helpful videos on this! I hope I don't mess up my beach cruiser, but this really helped; so thanks!

  • what about stickers do we wait 48 hours for that or not ?

  • so we put the on straight away do we ?

  • hey im ready to paint now but i have not goten my primer or paint. i want to paint it a flat black for the the frame and bars and forks any special brands i should buy for better results? and for the primer? please respond.

  • Is that a dent on the top tube bondo'd over?

  • dude slow down your going like a milli miles hour lol

  • I would recommend taking your frame to a bike shop that can check the frame for straightness BEFORE you paint.

  • Beautiful njs frame

  • I dunno u a rapper , mikes .

  • I love your pace. I hate how other videos are so super slow. Yours is perfect! Love it. Thanks man!

  • u are a dum ass

  • he so looks like one of the jonas brothers

  • dude calm down

  • Great tutorial!

  • Your Cooler Than I Am

  • what mic do you use ?

  • @mapledutch built in mic on my t2i

  • good tutorial! but please don't talk so fast!

  • I went to the hardware store and got some sand paper but they said that 400 is the grit limit and there is no suck thing as 1000grit?

  • @MinnesotaHatesYou try auto parts store like kragen or somthing or sherwinn William's store

  • Hey mike how long are you suppose to let it dry? You say at least over night but ive read that others say to let dry for a week and others say for a month!? I didn't do anything fancy just some flat black.

  • @MrFrankenstein92 let it dry 48 hours to be safe before really handing the bike and installing parts on the frame

  • if you are ever interested in getting a custom metal headbadge i can help ya out. been making and painting them for a lil while now and thought you may be interested.

  • What brand of paint did you use and what was the cost for paint and clear coat

  • Some say I should sand down the paint (remove gloss) before applying clear lacquer to make it stick better. Also the clear lacquer will make the paint shine again. In your video you're skipping that part. Which way is best? Thanks!

  • @crkdesign you dont need to sand the paint down unless you have a run in the paint, if you do all your steps right itll stick just fine, and i know they make some clears that leave the paint with a non glossy finish cause if you dont apply clear coat the paint will chip easy and the sun will turn it white

  • Is it safe to put the bike somewhere like in my dorm room while the aircraft stripper, primer, or paint is drying? Or are the fumes basically going to kill me and my roomie? Also im not sure whats up with my frame but it looks like the paint is messed up everywhere, the frame was once a single color but I actually bought it from craigslist and the frame's color is like a mix between dif shades of silver in an army camo style, do you mind if I link a pic if you have time to help me identify it?

  • @keychain1337 No its not u need really good ventilation for those chemicals, and its just got multiple coats on it soo itll take more work to get it all off. and pics fine

  • also: if you wanted 2 different colours on the frame, how would you do it?

  • @georgetothek spray one color then mask off the frame to keep that color then spray the second color

  • does this still apply with alu, carbon or titanium frames + forks?

  • you should have an EBAY and selll sell selll sell

  • at first I was like, "part two? shit! too much too watch ill just keep watching this.."

then I noticed after a minute I was halfway done with this video, damn you go through this shit fast.

  • @eyerumHD hahaha yea i try to go though it quick cause most bike videos take way to long

  • what brand of paint do you recommend?

  • how about powder coating the bike?

  • @XxESKIMOxX you can do that as well just gotta add up the numbers what costs you less and sometimes powder coaters cant do as cool of colors

  • After sanding back the primer coat, how did you the remove the dust etc from the frame before applying the colour coat?

  • @MrDaisyJuice spray and wipe it down with wax and grease remover

  • @SenorDingles Thank you. Much appreciated.

  • Yeah go OC!!

  • what kind of rattle cans would you recommend me using?

  • @Boosh3to sherwinn williams

  • This was perfect. unfortunately I'm already 75% the way through this process when I found it, so I'll apply this knowledge to the next project. One thing that I did that you didn't cover, was that I used autobody filler on parts of the bike to smooth it out (my frame is a 1970's Raleigh, not a nice Bridgestone) Seriously though. great couple videos.

  • How Many Rattle Cans Of Primer Did You Use ?

  • @iMiiK3Y i used a spray gun but one can should be enough

  • @SenorDingles Also How Many Coats Of The Colour Did You Apply ?

  • You speak much too quickly my friend!

  • Did you just really really carefully paint in the debossed logos?

    Looks AMAZING by the way.

  • @MincedFeet yea with a pin striping brush

  • DAMN!

  • Also can I use any spray paint like graffiti paint or a cheap can from DIY store

  • Thanks for the help, I've starting considering this,I've got an old 1980s bike I wanted to leave the lug without paint has anybody got advise on how i would cover them in painting.

  • @BARRGE50 masking them with tape

  • What brand of paint and primer are you using?

  • @henrynguyen sherwinn williams

  • @SenorDingles wow. If I didn't skip the first 30 seconds of the video I would've have figured that out on my own. haha!

  • I can never adjust my side pull brakes

  • @BARRGE50 i have a video on how to install a front break that shows you how to adjust them as well

  • Do u know anyone who does pro paint jobs in oc? Need one

  • @GBpackersallday message me I might be able to do it for u

  • Hey need HELP PLZ??? Do you know anything about VISP or LEADER Track frames are they any good?

  • @futbolloco10 Visps and leaders use cheap aluminum and I havent heard anything good about either frame

  • @SenorDingles what frame do you recommend then :/ I'm on a tight budget unfortunately :(

  • @futbolloco10 eighth inch makes a solid steel frame for cheap

  • Hey dingles do buy your bike parts online? If so what website because I'm trying to get some parts.

  • @MrFrankenstein92 I get most of my stuff off craigslist, Bikeisland has omnium cranks for the cheapest and they dont charge tax or shipping which is awesome, and cyclingclosets is pretty good to and ebay of coarse

  • oh yeah and how did you paint those recessed bridgestone decals so well?

  • what brand of rattle can paint do you suggest or like?

  • were u get that bridge stone bike???

  • @D0ughboythegreat craigslist where i get all my bikes haha

  • @SenorDingles thats so sick .....how much?

  • @D0ughboythegreat got it for 400 with nitto stem and seatpost and sugino 75 cranks and bb

  • @D0ughboythegreat message me and ill send u my email so i can give u a quote

  • Paint my bike for me :)

  • @scaughtt haha if ur serious send me a message

  • Just to verify, what is a coat exactly? Like would one coat be going over the whole frame once and letting it set?

  • @ivaniee yea thats what i mean by one coat

  • Is there a corrosive resistant special protecter paint if u want to leave bits of the raw polished frame

  • @BARRGE50 just clean really really well and just clear the frame

  • If I missed a spot after I painted and clear coated my bike can I go back and spray it and clear coat it or do I have to do it all over again?

  • for best results yea ud wanna take it back to atleast primer

  • u my favorite youtuber!!!!

  • @oatmealpizza4u haha thanks for the love

  • bout time!

  • How many rattle cans of paint do you think I would need for a frame Mike?

  • @ivaniee id say 2 cans of each to be safe

  • This Is a sweet video man! I just finished putting third coat of primer on my bike. Is the sanding between Coats of primer necessary?

  • @MrFrankenstein92 yea to get the smoothest out come for your color, you can use grey scotch bright or 1000 grit

  • Nice. The final product looks gorgeous. If I can't find a decal guy around San Diego, I'll be sure to email your guy.

  • @OutPuT thanks man took alot of work but it turned out better then expected, and yea im sure he'd be happy to mail the decals
